Attorney general says gun-walking ‘should never have happened’

By Jordy Yager and Pete Kasperowicz – 11/08/11 10:20 AM ET

Attorney General Eric Holder admitted Tuesday that a federal gun-tracking operation was “flawed” and said it “should never have happened.”

In testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Holder condemned the controversial Operation Fast and Furious, which has been under intense congressional scrutiny for its use of “gun walking.”

//

Holder said the effects of Fast and Furious will be felt for years to come as the thousands of firearms sold to known and suspected criminals are used in future crimes.

“I want to be clear: Any instance of so-called ‘gun walking’ is unacceptable,” Holder said.

“This operation was flawed in concept, as well as in execution. And, unfortunately, we will feel its effects for years to come as guns that were lost during this operation continue to show up at crimes scenes both here and in Mexico. This should never have happened. And it must never happen again.”

Holder faced questions Tuesday about whether he misled Congress on May 3 when he testified about Fast and the Furious to the House Judiciary Committee.

At the House hearing, when asked when he first became aware of Fast and Furious, Holder said, “I’m not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.”

On Tuesday, Holder clarified his remarks, saying that he first learned about Fast and Furious and its gun-walking tactics after news reports emerged based on the concerns of whistleblowers. He said he immediately asked for an inspector general (IG) investigation.

Is the POTUS Stirring Up a Revolution?

Is the POTUS Stirring Up a Revolution?

By Mercer
Tyson

Obama was hailed as a healing president, promising
peace and harmony.  What we have seen, however, is a president distinctively
divisive on racial issues, and instigating class warfare.  His actions are a
prescription for a violent revolution.

During his campaign Obama gave the highly acclaimed
speech on race (excerpt):

“Throughout the first year of this campaign, against
all predictions to the contrary, we saw how hungry the American people were for
this message of unity. Despite the temptation to view my candidacy through a
purely racial lens, we won commanding victories in states with some of the
whitest populations in the country. In South Carolina, where the Confederate
Flag still flies, we built a powerful coalition of African Americans and white
Americans.”

My, how things have changed; and it didn’t take long.
Shortly after Obama took office there was Obama’s reaction to the
incident
involving Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and the Cambridge Police
Department: “President Obama said that police in Cambridge, Massachusetts,
‘acted stupidly’ in arresting a prominent black Harvard professor last week
after a confrontation at the man’s home.”  He never should have stuck his nose
into this.  And if he were going to say something, he should have understood the
situation prior to butting in.  Instead, he routinely took the professor’s side,
showing his real and sincere bias, and managing to anger folks on both sides of
the debate.

More recently the POTUS told a
group of Hispanics, “And if Latinos sit out the election instead of saying,
we’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends…”  Punish?
Enemies?  Not exactly harmonious, peace-inspiring words.

Then in his speech
before the Congressional Black Caucus he said, “I expect all of you to march
with me and press on. Take off your bedroom slippers, put on your marching
shoes.”

And let’s not forget the work of Eric Holder when his
Justice Department went easy in a Philadelphia voting rights case against
members of the New Black Panther Party because they are African
American.

This is our post-racial president.

And then there’s the class warfare.

In 2008, then-candidate Obama’s remarks in his
interview
with Charles Gibson should have been a clue.  When Gibson pointed out that
recently when tax rates were increased government revenues decreased and when
tax rates decreased revenues increased, Obama replied “Well, Charlie, what I’ve
said is that I would look at raising the capital gains tax for purposes of
fairness.”
He has accusingly said ad nauseam that wealthy Americans should
pay their “fair share,” which means that no matter how much they are paying,
they should pay more.

Mr. Obama’s repetitive attacks on the wealthy have led
to growing divisions between them and the less fortunate, such as the current
Occupy Wall Street protestors who
“want to see the rich pay a fair share of their profits in wages, wealth and
income in taxes…”  When asked about the protestors, Obama replied: “”I think
it expresses the frustrations that the American people feel.”

Usage of words such as greed, selfish, and mean, while
always a part of the liberal description of Republicans, has escalated more in
recent years.

While most pundits seem to think of this as just
another chapter in American politics, albeit somewhat intense, I’m less blasé
about it.  I see this as a potential beginning of serious violence in our
streets and neighborhoods.  At worst, problems could escalate to a point
requiring national action — possibly a declaration of a state of emergency with
military involvement.  Is it possible we could have martial law imposed on us
around next November, and, coincidentally, have the elections postponed?  Not
likely, but possible.

More certain, however, is the extended racial and
class tension that will exist for decades.  While I never expected racism to go
away completely, racial harmony in this country has been gaining momentum and
is, essentially, more of a problem to the left-wing media and certain
race-baiting politicos than to folks on the ground.  I’m afraid the actions of
this administration may reverse the positive course that people of all races
have worked so hard to establish.  Barack Obama has done his best to delay
racial harmony.

And class warfare?  The vociferous screams from the
left have prompted normally silent, tax-paying Americans to denigrate those who
don’t pay taxes: adding their voices to the argument and elevating
hostilities.

I don’t generally subscribe to conspiracy theories,
and I’m not postulating such right now.  However, you have to wonder, given Rahm
Emanuel’s remarks at
the beginning of Obama’s administration: “You never want a serious crisis to go
to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you
could not do before.”  Do what? Fully implement socialism?  Create a
fascist-left country?  Simply elevate the problems with our economy and
instigate tension between the people, and you have the perfect storm for such a
scenario.  Even if this isn’t being done by design, it could happen
anyway.

This is one reason why so many on the right believe it
is absolutely critical that we remove Mr. Obama from office in 2012.   A GOP
president will certainly stir up anxiety on the left, and the cries of foul play
that existed during George Bush’s administration will resume.

Certainly a Republican will not be able to do much to
mend recent wounds.  But the GOP is never as hostile in its criticism of the
left, and the dissention will slow down and possibly stop.  Maybe after a few
years and if the economy improves progress in this area will again move
forward.

And yes, while there are not many high-profile,
moderate Dems, a more moderate and sensible Democrat could lessen the problem as
well.  However, it is highly unlikely that any Democrat (even Hillary) will
challenge Obama for the Democratic nomination.  And if one did, of course,
additional hostilities would generate from that.

Thanks to Barack Obama (with help from the media and
left-wing pundits) hostility in America is a high as I can recall, and close to
a breaking point.  With regard to this situation, the 2012 election represent a
break even or lose situation.  If Obama wins, we lose.  If any Republican wins,
we break even.

Qaddafi Is Dead, Libyan Officials Say

Qaddafi Is Dead, Libyan Officials Say

By and RICK GLADSTONE

TRIPOLI, Libya — Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, the former Libyan strongman who fled into hiding after rebels toppled his regime two months ago, was killed Thursday as fighters battling the vestiges of his loyalist forces wrested control of his hometown of Surt, the interim government announced.

Al Jazeera television showed gruesome footage of what it said was Colonel Qaddafi, alive but wounded and bloody, being dragged around by armed men in Surt. The television also broadcast a separate clip of his half-naked corpse, with lifeless open eyes and an apparent gunshot wound to the side of the head, as jubilant fighters fired automatic weapons in the air.

Conflicting accounts quickly emerged about whether Colonel Qaddafi was summarily executed, died from gunshot wounds, died from a NATO bomb blast or bled to death in an ambulance. But the images broadcast by Al Jazeera punctuated an emphatic and violent ending to his four decades as a ruthless and bombastic autocrat who had basked in his reputation as the self-styled king of kings of Africa.

“We have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Muammar Qaddafi has been killed,” Mahmoud Jibril, the prime minister of the Transitional National Council, the interim government, told a news conference in Tripoli. Mahmoud Shammam, the council’s chief spokesman, called it “the day of real liberation. We were serious about giving him a fair trial.  It seems God has some other wish.”

Libyans rejoiced as news of his death spread. Car horns blared and residents poured into the streets in giddy disbelief in Tripoli and in the eastern city of Benghazi, where the rebellion against Colonel Qaddafi began in February and escalated into the most violent of the Arab Spring uprisings.

Herman Cain is running for president….

He’s probably one of the       few who can actually do the job and  totally knows what he’s doing or       knows how to learn OTJ! (On The Job!)

Herman Cain is           running for president….
He’s  not a career politician (in           fact he has never held political office). He’s known as a pizza guy,           but there’s a lot more to him. He’s also a computer guy, a banker guy,           and a rocket scientist guy.

Here’s his bio:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science.
  • Mathematician for the Navy, where he worked on missile             ballistics (making him a rocket scientist).
  • Computer systems analyst for Coca-Cola.
  • VP of Corporate Data Systems and Services for Pillsbury (this             is the top of the ladder in the computer world, being in charge of             information systems for a major           corporation).

All achieved before reaching the age of 35. Since he           reached the top of the information systems world, he changed           careers!

  • Business Manager. Took charge of Pillsbury’s 400 Burger King             restaurants in the Philadelphia area, which were the company’s             poorest performers in the country. Spent the first nine months             learning the business from the ground up, cooking hamburger and yes,             cleaning toilets. After three years he had turned them into the             company’s best performers.
  • Godfather’s Pizza CEO. Was asked by Pillsbury to take charge             of their Godfather’s Pizza chain (which was on the verge of             bankruptcy). He made it profitable in 14 months.
  • In 1988 he led a buyout of the Godfather’s Pizza chain from             Pillsbury. He was now the owner of a restaurant chain. Again he             reached the top of the ladder of another industry.
  • He was also chairman of the National Restaurant Association             during this time. This is a group that interacts with government on             behalf of the restaurant industry, and it gave him political             experience from the non-politician side.

Having reached the top of a second           industry, he changed careers again!

  • Adviser to the Federal Reserve System. Herman Cain went to             work for the Federal Reserve Banking System advising them on how             monetary policy changes would affect American businesses.
  • Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. He worked             his way up to the chairmanship of a regional Federal Reserve bank.             This is only one step below the chairmanship of the entire Federal             Reserve System (the top banking position in the country). This             position allowed him to see how monetary policy is made from the             inside, and understand the political forces that impact the monetary             system.

After           reaching the top of the banking industry, he changed careers for a           fourth time!

  • Writer and public speaker. He then started to write and speak             on leadership. His books             include Speak as a             Leader, CEO of             Self,Leadership is Common Sense,             and They Think You’re             Stupid.
  • Radio Host. Around 2007—after a remarkable 40 year career—he             started hosting a radio show on WSB in Atlanta (the largest talk             radio station in the country).

He did all this starting from rock bottom (his father           was a chauffeur and his mother was a maid). When you add up his           accomplishments in his life—including reaching the top of three           unrelated industries: information systems, business management, and           banking—

STACK THAT  UP AGAINST THE           ‘COMMUNITY ORGANIZER’….

Herman Cain may have the most impressive resume of           anyone that has run for the presidency in the last half           century.

Roseanne Barr: Behead Bankers, Rich Who Won’t Give Up Wealth

Actress, comedienne and now author Roseanne Barr shares her solution for dealing with the rich and how the banks could repay the money the U.S. government bailed them out with in 2008.

“Part of my platform is, of course, the guilty must be punished and that we no longer let our children see their guilty leaders getting away with murder. Because it teaches children, you know, that they don’t have to have any morals as long as they have guns and are bullies and I don’t think that’s a good message,” Barr told Russia Today (RT).

“I do say that I am in favor of the return of the guillotine and that is for the worst of the worst of the guilty.

“I first would allow the guilty bankers to pay, you know, the ability to pay back anything over $100 million [of] personal wealth because I believe in a maximum wage of $100 million. And if they are unable to live on that amount of that amount then they should, you know, go to the reeducation camps and if that doesn’t help, then being beheaded,” Barr said with a straight face.

The Obama administration told the Palestinian Authority it cannot
significantly help advance a Palestinian state until after the 2012 presidential
elections, a top PA official told WND.

The official, however, said the U.S. will press for a Palestinian state
quickly if President Obama is re-elected.

“The main message we received from the U.S. is that nothing will happen in a
serious way before the 2012 elections,” said the official.

The PA official said Obama “will not accept the Palestinian request of a
state at the (U.N.) Security Council and cannot help on the ground for now.”

“We were told to wait for Obama’s reelection, and that before then nothing
serious will happen for a state,” the official continued. “But after the
reelection, the U.S. said the schedule will be short to reach a Palestinian
state.”

Obama’s policies toward Israel have been highlighted in local and national
campaigns, with many Democrats fearing voters will oppose them due to the
perception the president is anti-Israel.

Obama’s treatment of Israel was a significant issue in the recent election of
Republican Bob Turner to former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s seat in a district that
had not elected a GOP candidate since 1923.

Also, presidential contenders such as Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Rep. Michele
Bachmann, R-Minn., have been strongly criticizing Obama on Israel.

Solyndra  project in France

A member of Congress today essentially accused Barack Obama of rushing more  than half a billion dollars out the government’s door and into the account of a  private company that later collapsed into bankruptcy in order to set up a  favorable photo-op for the administration.

“The review process took a back seat to the need to set up a photo-op for the  vice president and other administration officials,” Rep.  Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., said today after a hearing into the more than half a  billion dollars in federal loan guarantees granted to the  California-based Solyndra, which had some major Obama supporters as private  investors.

His statement on the hearing found that the “Obama administration rushed to  get money out the door for political photo-ops.”

See  the nation’s new state of affairs, in “Gangster Government: Barack Obama and the  New Washington Thugocracy.

That’s even though witnesses today from the administration all claimed that  due diligence was applied to the decision-making process that addressed the $535  million, and they are stumped as to what eventually went wrong.

Stearns, the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s  subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, made clear the issue is far from  over.

(Story continues below)

“Solyndra was the first loan guarantee issued by the Obama administration  using stimulus dollars and administration officials held out the company as a  glowing example of how stimulus dollars were creating jobs – now 1,100 Solyndra  workers are out of work, the firm is bankrupt and raided by the FBI, and  taxpayers are likely out $535 million,” he said.

“I look forward to hearing from the Solyndra executives at our hearing next  week,” he said.

The company, which made “innovative cylindrical solar systems for commercial  rooftops,” announced at the end of August that it was suspending operations and  firing 1,100 fulltime and temporary employees.

It said it could not achieve “full-scale operations rapidly enough to compete  in the near term with the resources of larger foreign manufacturers. This  competitive challenge was exacerbated by a global oversupply of solar panels and  a severe compression of prices that in part resulted from uncertainty in  governmental incentive programs in Europe and the decline in credit markets that  finance solar systems.”

CEO Brian Harrison was quoted in the company announcement at the time saying,  “We are incredibly proud of our employees, and we would like to thank our  investors, channel partners, customers and suppliers, for the years of support  that allowed us to bring our innovative technology to market. Distributed  rooftop solar power makes sense, and our customers clearly recognize the  advantages of Solyndra systems.”

However, the half a billion dollars lost by taxpayers wasn’t mentioned.  Stearns’ spokesman said that’s where the investigation has to begin, with just  exactly what was paid to or on behalf of the company, by whom, and for what  purpose, officials said.

At today’s hearing, Jeffrey Zients, deputy director of the Office of  Management and Budget, and Jonathan Silver, a manager in the Department of  Energy Loans Program Office, claimed “all due diligence” was used in approving  the loan, even though some analysts were warning about the company’s future  already at that point in 2009.

Then the administration restructured the loan and put the security of private  investors ahead of taxpayers – an apparent violation of federal law as well as  the intent of Congress – in order to attract more outside investors, the report  from Stearns office confirmed.

According to Zients, “DOE ultimately provided information and analysis to OMB  to show that the loan was in imminent default, and that the restructuring  proposal was expected to be less costly to taxpayers than other options,  including liquidation.”

But another attempt to restructure in just the past few weeks was rejected,  and the company turned itself into a vacant warehouse, after apparently “burning  through” the $535 million in about two years.

“It is clear that in a rush to spend $8 billion in stimulus funds for this  loan guarantee program, this administration failed to review properly Solyndra’s  viability in the global market, which is very disconcerting given that $10  billion remains to be spent by the administration before the end of this month,”  said Stearns.

“I see no reason for the taxpayers to have any confidence that these funds  could be spent wisely and it should be returned to the [U.S.] Treasury to reduce  our debt,” he said.

During the hearing, members of Congress pointed to internal emails suggesting  that there was a strategy in place to rush the loan approval in order to meet  the schedule timeframe for a photo-op for the administration.

One such note said, “We have ended up with a situation of having to do rushed  approvals on a couple of occasions (and we are worried about Solyndra at the end  of the week). … We would prefer to have sufficient time to do our due diligence  reviews and have the approval set the date for the announcement rather than the  other way around.”

However, White House spokesman Jay Carney dismissed such concerns, explaining  the request for an approval date was only for “scheduling.”

Solyndra had been hailed by Obama as an innovative company that would use  taxpayer money to hire workers. Instead, it fired most of its 1,100 employees  Aug. 31 when it shut down.

Just days later, agents with the FBI and Energy Department’s inspector  general inspected the company headquarters for records that might provide the  basis for further investigation or charges.

Stearns had pointed out that the record reveals “numerous red flags”

A  commentary from Bruce Krasting at Business Insider said it was of special  interest that no witnesses so far have been scheduled for the main owner of the  company, Argonaut Ventures, a family investment vehicle for George Kaiser, a  major Obama supporter.

“George Kaiser could step up in a bankruptcy court and offer to put $300  [million] into S. The proceeds would be used to substantially pay down the  government IOU. The balance of the debt would be converted into common stock. If  S were around in 5-7 years, the government might get the rest of its money  back,” he suggested. “That’s my challenge to George Kaiser. Step up and fix this  problem.”

A commentary  that appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune noted that when Obama was promoting  renewable energy projects, and working to grant money for the work, he visited  the California company and stated, “The future is here.”

But the commentary noted that by now, FBI agents have visited the company’s  offices, and have taken what they want. They also have visited officials’ homes  for related reasons.

“Obviously, everyone should reserve judgment as to whether there has been any  wrongdoing, criminal or otherwise. But it’s not too early to draw some policy  lessons from Solyndra’s ignominious downfall,” the commentary said. “The first  is that government is no better than the private sector at picking industrial  winners – and usually worse. Solyndra’s novel solar-panel design was supposed to  produce electricity more efficiently than more traditional panels, offsetting  its higher production costs. Many private analysts questioned that business  model, especially given modest global demand for solar power and competition  from China’s heavily subsidized producers. But the Energy Department swiftly  approved Solyndra’s loan guarantee anyway. The department has also placed large  financial bets on electric vehicles and related battery technology, despite  private forecasts that the market for that technology is not ripe.”

In response to a request from from  the Wall Street Journal, FBI spokeswoman Julianne H. Sohn declined to  comment on much of what is going on.

But the report said two of the company’s founders were taken off the payroll  just last year because the company “was burning through cash and had to rein in  costs.”

Obama: Birth Certificate A VERY, VERY INTERESTING. READ.

Obama: Birth
Certificate

A VERY, VERY
INTERESTING. READ.

I have never felt
this idiot was ever born here & he never should have been elected.

He should not be
President since he never grew up in the United States.

What follows should
be considered since they are inconsistent with the “Birth
Certificate”…..

It was brought to
light that back in 1961 people of color were called ‘Negroes.’ So how can

this ‘birth
certificate’ state he is ‘African-American’ when the term wasn’t even used back
then??

This isn’t over! This
is interesting!

.

.

Here is a comment
from a reader to George Ure at UrbanSurvival.com : “As you all know,
Donald

Trump made a big deal
about Obama’s birth certificate.

.

.

Recently, the White House released Obama’s birth certificate. I will tell you
right now that I had never

given this
“birther” issue any credit. I watched the hype and the
“crazies” come out. I completely dismissed

the entire ordeal
altogether.

.

.

In fact, it was not until the White House released the birth certificate that
it had gained my attention. I am

the studious sort of
guy, and I have plenty of time on my hands. So, I took a close look at this
document.

.

.

While I would have thought that this issue would have been closed for good
(and, got the crazies to

crawl back into their
holes), I found two extremely strange inconsistencies that merit some
attention.

.

.

First of all, the birth certificate that the White House released lists Obama’s
birth as August 4, 1961.

It also lists Barack
Hussein Obama as his father. No big deal, right? At the time of Obama’s birth,
it

also shows that his
father is aged 25 years old, and that Obama’s father was born in ” Kenya ,
East Africa “.

.

.

This wouldn’t seem like anything of concern, except the fact that Kenya did not
even exist until 1963,

two whole years after
Obama’s birth, and 27 years after his father’s birth. How could Obama’s father

have been born in a
country that did not yet exist?

.

.

Up and until Kenya was formed in 1963, it was known as the “British East
Africa Protectorate”.

But, this is not the
only thing that I found that just does not jive. The other item that I looked
into was the

hospital that Obama
was born in. On the birth certificate released by the White House, the listed

place of birth is
“Kapi’olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital”.

.

.

This cannot be,
because the hospital(s) in question in 1961 were called “Kaui Keolani
Children’s Hospital”

and “Kapi’olani
Maternity Home,” respectively.

.

.

The name did not change to Kapi’olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital
until 1978, when these two

hospitals merged. How
can this particular name of the hospital be on a birth certificate dated 1961
if this

name had not yet been
applied to it until 1978?

.

.

Go ahead, look it up. I am not talking crazy talk, these are the facts. Like I
said, I thought that this

was a non-issue until
the actual certificate was released.

.

.

Now that it has been released, of course I had to look into it. I have found
these issues, now I know that

something is up. If
you doubt me, just look at the following resources:

.

.

Sure as hell, the hospital part is true, as you can read about the 1978 merger
here.

Perry Will Win Big

Perry Will Win Big

By Bruce
Walker

You read it here first: Rick Perry will amble to the
Republican nomination and will win the presidential election easily.  In June I
wrote an article — “Is
Perry the One?
” —
suggesting that Rick Perry may be the best nominee for Republicans.  His
personal life is spotless.  His policies reflect his political beliefs and have
worked the way conservatives intend.

Talking like a tough Texan is the worst thing anyone
can say about him, but that attack will fail.  The unpopularity of George W.
Bush in his last two years created a false notion among leftist elites that
America does not like cowboys.  Wrong: we love leaders who look confident and
act decisively; we love our frontiersman and cowboys.  We like straight talk and
straight shooting.  Most Americans also sense that we desperately need a tough
hombre in the White House in 2013.

We also want heart.  Perry’s long and happy marriage
shows that heart.  His hard work on the family cotton farm shows that too.
Perry’s honorable and significant service in the military shows the courage of a
true patriot.  His love of America’s most noble private organization, the Boy
Scouts, shows that heart too.  Perry’s unabashed faith in God will hurt him only
in Manhattan or in San Francisco.

In stark contrast is our current president.  Has Obama
ever really worked a day in his life?  Did he walk out of church when Reverend
Wright damned America, as Perry would have done?  Can anyone even picture Obama
as a Boy Scout?  Does anyone believe that Obama, who did not give an Easter
measure and who in private parties sneers at Americans clinging to their faith,
believes only in anti-Americanism?

Perry, even at what more nuanced conservatives may
consider his rough edges, stands in dramatic contrast to Obama.  In a nation
which, according to Gallup, is more conservative than at any time in twenty
years and in which every state has more conservatives than liberals, the
Republican Party needs a conservative — not a “compassionate” conservative —
to run straight at Obama.

Why is Washington D.C. more economically upbeat
than any other part of our nation?  Our nation’s capital is doing so well
because politicians have made the federal government our biggest growth
industry.  The attacks on Perry by flacks like  David Axelrod
Texas’ economic growth is because oil — will backfire on the left: yes,
extracting oil, coal, and natural gas can create millions of high-paying jobs,
make the dollar stronger, and increase tax revenues without raising tax rates.
Yet that is what clueless leftists will accuse him of trying to
do.

Perry is not Reagan but he is more like Reagan than
any Republican in the last fifty years.  He is physically strong.  He honed his
speaking skills as a young salesman, and those who worry about him talking like
Bush should listen: he sounds more like Reagan.

Perry, like Reagan, governed the second-largest state
in the Union for multiple terms.  He also has had the chance to connect with
other Republican governors, arguably the strongest force in the party.  Several
governors have come close to endorsing Perry already and more will openly
support him.  His message of genuine federalism is vital to these governors.
Strong support from conservative Republican governors will make winning the
nomination much easier.

Next year anyone touched with the deficit deal in
Washington will be damaged political goods.  Republican political leaders who
have created prosperity at the state level will look much better.  Rick Perry in
2012 will not just be able to run against Barack Obama and congressional
Democrats, whose leaders have appalling bad approval ratings, but Perry will be
able to run against the federal government itself.  He will run as the
longest-serving governor in America running a state (as large as a nation) which
works.

Polls already show Perry leading the Republican
field
, ahead of a much better-known Romney who has been
campaigning for years.  Gallup shows a very
high intensity level
for
Perry as well.  As other conservatives drop out, their support will inevitably
gravitate to Perry.  A united Republican Party in 2012, led by a sitting
governor, will sweep to victory.  An America given the choice between an
unapologetic conservative and a clear liberal will give that conservative a
landslide.

In 1979, enclaves of pundits were feverishly analyzing
the candidates.  It was very clear what would happen: the popular conservative
big-state governor would win the nomination fast and then crush the bitter but
smiling one-term leftist in the White House.  That is exactly will happen next
November 2012.
