New UN Report Targets Arizona “Xenophobes and Racists”?

New UN Report Targets Arizona “Xenophobes and Racists”?

September 30th, 2010

Ben Johnson, Floyd Reports

A report issued today by a United Nations agency appears to be a thinly veiled critique of Arizona’s immigration law, one that equates its supporters with “xenophobes and racists.” The Global Migration Group adopted its statement on the “Human Rights of Migrants in Irregular Situation” — that is, illegal aliens — earlier today in Geneva. It criticized unnamed nations for viewing illegal immigrants “through the lens of sovereignty, border security or law enforcement, sometimes driven by hostile domestic constituencies,” and demanded nations endow illegals  with “economic, social, and cultural rights,” including “reproductive healthcare.”

The report seems to be the fruition of Barack Obama’s decision to haul the state of Arizona before the UN Human Rights Council over its differences on domestic policy.

Obama claims “I’m a Christian by choice” but governs as a Muslim

Obama claims “I’m a Christian by choice” but governs as a Muslim

“I’m a Christian by choice,” said President Obama yesterday on the campaign trail, losing his mid-term elections and trying to win Christian votes.  Obama seeks to overcome public opinion polls in which 18% say he is Muslim and 43% say Obama’s religion is unknown. But here’s my question:  Why does he campaign like a Christian, but govern like a Muslim?

1) While governing, Obama said, “I am a Muslim, the son of a Muslim father and stepson of a Muslim stepfather, my half-brothers in Kenya are Muslims, and I am sympathetic to the Muslim agenda,” during a private meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Abul Gheit last year.
2) “Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation,” Obama told Sojourners.
3) “John McCain has not criticized my Muslim faith,” Obama told ABC.
4) Obama has twice celebrated Muslim Ramadan with big banquets, but twice refused any White House ceremony for the Judeo-Christian National Day of Prayer.
5) The Obama Administration defended seizing and burning our troops Christian Bibles, but made a big deal when a Christian minister almost desecrated his own Korans.
6) Obama repeatedly defends building a “Victory Mosque” at Ground Zero, but would never ask the Saudi or Afghan governments to allow Christians to build churches.
7) Obama praised Islam as “a great religion and its commitment to justice and progress” in his address to Muslims translated into many languages for worldwide distribution.

While campaigning, however, Obama needs Christian votes to keep his majority in Congress, so now he says: “I came to my Christian faith later in life…my mother didn’t raise me in the church…it was because the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me…Jesus Christ dying for my sins spoke to the humility we all have to have as human beings, that we’re sinful and we’re flawed and we make mistakes, and that, you know, we achieve salvation through the grace of God…That’s what I pray to do every day. I think my public service is part of that effort to express my Christian faith.”  [But when governing Obama promotes tax-funded abortions, homosexualizes our military against their will, and appoints Judges like David Hamilton who ruled it’s illegal to pray “in Jesus’ name,” but totally OK to pray to Allah in public.]  Does anybody see the duplicity here?

Thoughts from a conservative in hiding (Not Me)

Thoughts from a conservative in hiding

Neil Braithwaite

I try my best to get my conservative friends to stand up for the cause; unfortunately, the one with the best writing skills lives among the liberals in the great Pacific Northwest and actually fears that being outed may cause him and his family irreparable harm. So, under his alias, Dave McGuire, I present to you his conservative words of wisdom:

“Since someone broached the subject of Obama’s recent comments about his Christianity I am compelled to offer the following comment on that subject.

Obama and his wife spent 20 plus years at the feet of a guy that is as hate filled as any man can be. The Rev. Wright vented his vile spirit every Sunday but our president thinks he can regale throngs of potential voters with lip service and half-truths about his desire to be a Christian. Don’t make me laugh – I’m not in the mood.

The United Church of Christ, of which Mr. Obama was a member, does not hold to any form of the traditional view of Jesus. The organization as a whole is nearly agnostic in terms of a belief in a higher power. Truth be known, the organization across America is merely a liberal political movement masquerading as a church – not unlike so many other progressive liberal and so called Christian churches in America. These are the type of spiritual groups that Lenin or Stalin, if they were alive, would hail as the perfect State Sanctioned Church; and the only church anyone would be allowed to attend.

Beyond that fact, the notion that Mr. Obama wants to be his sister’s and brother’s keeper is laughable and at the same time just a little concerning. You see, after Cain killed his brother God asked him where his brother Able was. Cain replied, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” Now, I don’t care one way or the other how you feel about the veracity of the story, but taken in its context the answer Cain gave was conceived by a guilty conscience and smacked of insolence – or at best disingenuousness.

Now, consider that the concept of being your brother’s keeper is not mentioned again in either the Old or New Testament. That fact begs the question – just whose voice was calling out to Obama and whose precepts were ringing in his ears?

To make the point one more time: there are no other references to a command or inference to suggest that anyone need be another’s keeper. Think about it, why would there be and who would want to be kept if there were? I suppose Karl Marx might enjoin the idea given his view of life, after all, the governments his ideology spawned are all about keeping people, aren’t they?

As for doing unto others as you would have them do unto you, – this president has been heading off in the wrong direction and dragging the country along with him. If Obama really cared about our lives he would not be running the country into the ground – wasting our money doing it – and promising more of the same if we give him what he wants. Given the ground we’ve covered thus far, with our leader at the wheel, I am certain that given the opportunity Obama will continue to take us to the ultimate destination to a land of hopelessness and despair.

As he stands now, the best you can say about Obama is: he may not have provided the transparency in government he promised – but he certainly is a man that is easily seen through – if you have eyes to see that is.”

Excellent job Dave.

FBI terror probe targets group funded by Obama President, Bill Ayers channeled money to ‘anti-Israel’ organization

JERUSALEM – President Obama and Weather Underground terrorist group founder William Ayers provided funds in the 1990s to an Arab group whose executive director had his home raided last week in a terror probe by the FBI.

“The [search] warrants are seeking evidence in support of an ongoing Joint Terrorism Task Force investigation into activities concerning the material support of terrorism,” Steve Warfield, spokesman for the FBI in Minneapolis, told reporters.

Warfield was referring to the FBI’s raid of seven homes Friday, including that of Hatem Abudayyeh, the executive director of the Arab American Action Network, or AAAN.

Those dumb, dangerous, ‘fundamentalist’ constitutionalists

Those dumb, dangerous, ‘fundamentalist’ constitutionalists

Mark J. Fitzgibbons

Bill Schneider of CNN political analysis fame echoes the new line of attack on Tea Partiers in his piece at Politico, Tea party: Political fundamentalists.
He writes, “The tea party is a political fundamentalist movement. Like religious fundamentalists, its members do not tolerate waverers . . . They drive out heretics . . . They punish unbelievers . . . And they believe in the total inerrancy of scripture – in this case, the U.S. Constitution as originally written in 1787.”
Dahlia Lithwick and her two Slate colleagues, Emily Bazelon and Hanna Rosen, used that theme of confluence of Biblical and constitutional fundamentalism in their online chatty posts, Decoding Christine O’Donnell. Lithwick’s post in particular raised howls of amazement at her constitutional ignorance, and from many sources.
It is no stretch to understand what liberals are trying to do. ‘Fundamentalists’ conjures up visions of snake handlers and the like. You know, all the people made fun of by smart city-folk.
Post 9/11, fundamentalism is a term associated with Al-Qaeda.
So, the new liberal meme is that the Tea Party, with its emphasis on constitutionalism, is a bunch of dumb and dangerous ‘fundamentalists.’
Mr. Schneider also repeats the left-wing meme that “tea partiers are anti-government.” Now, that’s dumb. The Constitution established our government, and created its structure, authorities and limitations. Therefore, how can we be pro-Constitution yet anti-government?
Anti-lawbreaking government? We are that.
To those of us who believe the Constitution is the law that government must follow, or amended only as provided in that governing document and not through fiat or usurpation, transparent attacks devoid of fact and logic like those of Ms. Lithwick and Mr. Schneider merely remind us how important it is that we proceed and succeed.

Obama’s claim on Selma

Obama told a Selma audience how he had been conceived by his parents because they had been inspired by the fervor following the “Bloody Sunday” voting rights demonstration in Selma, Alabama.  “There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama,” he said.  “Because some folks are willing to march across a bridge.  So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.  So don’t tell me I don’t have a claim on Selma, Alabama.  Don’t tell me I’m not coming home to Selma, Alabama.”  Small detail — Obama was born in 1961 — the Selma march occurred in 1965 — four years later — oops!

Inhofe Says EPA’s New Boiler Rule Could Kill Nearly 800,000 Manufacturing Jobs

The top Republican on a Senate environmental panel released a scathing report Tuesday that he contends shows that the Environmental Protection Agency’s new proposed rule on cleaning up boilers nationwide could devastate America’s manufacturing base and imperil hundreds of thousands of jobs without providing any real public health or environmental benefits.

FBI Investigating SEIU’s Andy Stern

FBI Investigating SEIU’s Andy Stern

September 28th, 2010

TheBlaze.com

The FBI and the U.S. Labor Department are investigating prominent labor leader Andy Stern in their probe of corruption at the Service Employees International Union, according to two people who have been interviewed by federal agents.

The two organized labor officials met with federal agents this summer to answer questions about a six-figure book contract that Stern landed in 2006 and his role in approving money to pay the salary of an SEIU leader in California who allegedly performed no work.

Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the investigation. The FBI and the Labor Department’s office of inspector general declined to comment for the record.

The Islamintern Meets in Chicago Tonight

The Islamintern Meets in Chicago Tonight

Andrew G. Bostom

At 7 PM Central Time this evening (9/28/10) in Chicago, the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu of Turkey will deliver a keynote speech opening a conference at the American Islamic College, entitled, “The Role of the OIC and The scope for its relations with American Muslims.” Bat Ye’or’s recent American Thinker essay highlighted the OIC’s agenda — consistent with the historical jihad imperative — global Islamization, or in modern parlance, totalitarian hegemony.
A 1954 Diogenes — lamp in hand, in broad daylight, searching for an honest assessment of Islamic totalitarianism — would have been uncharacteristically rewarded had he read Bernard Lewis’ essay, “Communism and Islam.” [International Affairs,Vol. 30, No. 1(Jan., 1954), pp. 1-12] Currently, however, in his twilight years, Professor Lewis’ apologetics on Islam (discussed here, here, and here) are but a simulacrum of the uncompromised views he recorded over 56 years ago. Alas, Professor Lewis’ “transition” is profoundly disappointing, and would only confirm the classical cynicism of a Diogenes, circa 2010.
But as the “Islamintern”/OIC holds forth in Chicago this week. We must share and preserve for posterity these timeless, intellectually honest insights on the totalitarian nature of Islam Professor Lewis published in his prime, during January, 1954:
I turn now from the accidental to the essential factors, to those deriving from the very nature of Islamic society, tradition, and thought. The first of these is the authoritarianism, perhaps we may even say the totalitarianism, of the Islamic political tradition…. Many attempts have been made to show that Islam and democracy are identical-attempts usually based on a misunderstanding of Islam or democracy or both. This sort of argument expresses a need of the up- rooted Muslim intellectual who is no longer satisfied with or capable of understanding traditional Islamic values, and who tries to justify, or rather, re-state, his inherited faith in terms of the fashionable ideology of the day. It is an example of the romantic and apologetic presentation of Islam that is a recognized phase in the reaction of Muslim thought to the impact of the West…. In point of fact, except for the early caliphate, when the anarchic individualism of tribal Arabia was still effective, the political history of Islam is one of almost unrelieved autocracy…[I]t was authoritarian, often arbitrary, sometimes tyrannical. There are no parliaments or representative assemblies of any kind, no councils or communes, no chambers of nobility or estates, no municipalities in the history of Islam; nothing but the sovereign power, to which the subject owed complete and unwavering obedience as a religious duty imposed by the Holy Law. In the great days of classical Islam this duty was only owed to the lawfully appointed caliph, as God’s vicegerent on earth and head of the theocratic community, and then only for as long as he upheld the law; but with the decline of the caliphate and the growth of military dictatorship, Muslim jurists and theologians accommodated their teachings to the changed situation and extended the religious duty of obedience to any effective authority, however impious, however barbarous. For the last thousand years, the political thinking of Islam has been dominated by such maxims as “tyranny is better than anarchy” and “whose power is established, obedience to him is incumbent.”
…Quite obviously, the Ulama of Islam are very different from the Communist Party. Nevertheless, on closer examination, we find certain uncomfortable resemblances. Both groups profess a totalitarian doctrine, with complete and final answers to all questions on heaven and earth; the answers are different in every respect, alike only in their finality and completeness, and in the contrast they offer with the eternal questioning of Western man. Both groups offer to their members and followers the agreeable sensation of belonging to a community of believers, who are always right, as against an outer world of unbelievers, who are always wrong. Both offer an exhilarating feeling of mission, of purpose, of being engaged in a collective adventure to accelerate the historically inevitable victory of the true faith over the infidel evil-doers. The traditional Islamic division of the world into the House of Islam and the House of War, two necessarily opposed groups, of which- the first has the collective obligation of perpetual struggle against the second, also has obvious parallels in the Communist view of world affairs. There again, the content of belief is utterly different, but the aggressive fanaticism of the believer is the same. The humorist who summed up the Communist creed as “There is no God and Karl Marx is his Prophet!” was laying his finger on a real affinity. The call to a Communist Jihad, a Holy War for the faith-a new faith, but against the self-same Western Christian enemy-might well strike a responsive note.

Do Your Homework On Islam

Do Your Homework On Islam Posted September 23, 2010 12:00 AM EDT

By Ron McMullen

I AM APPALLED at the ignorance and naiveté of Westerners relating to Islam. Ideologically driven neophytes can be found mostly in academic, political, media and liturgical circles near the publicly-funded feeding trough where they enjoy a disproportionate vocal presence.

These vocal few provide Americans with inaccurate, incomplete or false information we use to come to the debate. Few venture beyond CNN, The Associated Press or Reuters to see what is really going on. State-sponsored media knows this and is successful at controlling the issue.

This was clear in the last presidential election. High profile individuals like George Bush and his successor, Barack Obama, extol the virtues, peaceful nature and wonderful contributions Islam has made to this country. I realize we need the oil and I know diplomatically they must say these things to appear friendly. There is only one problem: They are not truthful.

From elementary school, on through high school and college, students are fed a constant diet of sanitized, doctored and airbrushed nonsense. This could be no clearer than the presentations of the world’s great religions, Islam in particular. Seldom will a textbook mention the deterioration of human rights women’s rights, and the economic, educational and agricultural downturns as Islam works its way into the fabric of civil and governmental structure.

The majority of Muslims do not subscribe to the radical demands of the Taliban, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Hamas, Fatah, Muslim Brotherhood, etc. But 88 million out of 1.3 billion do, as evidenced by terror in Somalia, India, New York, Pakistan, Egypt, Brazil, Turkey, Madrid, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Scotland, London, Indonesia, etc. It only takes a few to cause a mess.

I have put together a quiz, probably not one you would get in Comparative Religion or World History class:

What great religion originated the term “jihad,” which means a permanent holy war against non-Muslims?

What great religion since the mid-600s persecuted, executed, tortured, taxed, enslaved, beheaded and, more recently, bombed those who do not subscribe to their faith?

Under the banner of what great religion, are men and, mostly, women buried up to their waists in dirt and stoned to death?

What great religion permits and encourages the beating of a wife (with limits)?

What great religion permits public flogging for a woman who shows too much skin?

What great religion forces a divorce if one of the spouses defects from the faith?

What great and peaceful religion orders the killing of any individual who attempts to mock or draw a caricature of the Prophet Mohammed or question the veracity of the Koran?

What great religion promises 72 awaiting virgins in paradise for a young man to strap a bomb to himself and take as many innocent lives with him as he can?

What great religion allows the killing of a relative because they have dishonored the family by converting, leaving the faith or simply walking down the street with someone other than a designated family member?

What great religion permits fathers and grandfathers to have unfettered sexual access to their children and grandchildren based on a twisted interpretation of property rights?

What great religion still permits female genital mutilation?

What great religion teaches that deception is appropriate when it furthers their cause?

Under the banner of what great religion has Iran executed more people other than China, and executed more juveniles than any other country? (One-hundred-forty minors are on death row).

Under the cover of what great religion has Iran imprisoned more journalists than any other country?

Under the banner of what great religion is incitement to the genocide of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel standard fare?

Under what great religion is wearing a cross or Star of David rewarded with arrest or imprisonment?

Under what great religion does the U.S. hold the title, “The Great Satan”?

What great religion systematically defaces, destroys and builds over historical and archeological sites to remove any reminder of their existence (particularly Christian and Jewish sites)?

America, do your homework before we have a mosque on every street corner.
