Report: Sarkozy calls Netanyahu ‘liar’

Microphones accidently left on after G20 meeting pick up private conversation between US, French presidents. Sarkozy admits he ‘can’t stand’ Israeli premier. Obama: You’re fed up with him? I have to deal with him every day!

French President Nicolas Sarkozy reportedly told US President Barack Obama that he could not “stand” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that he thinks the Israeli premier “is a liar.”

According to a Monday report in the French website “Arret sur Images,” after facing reporters for a G20 press conference on Thursday, the two presidents retired to a private room, to further discuss the matters of the day.

The conversation apparently began with President Obama criticizing Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO despite Washington’s strong objection to the move.

ALL EUROPEAN   LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ

The following   is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian

ALL EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ By Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez

I walked   down the street in Barcelona , and suddenly discovered a   terrible
truth – Europe died in Auschwitz   . We killed six million Jews and replaced
them with 20 million Muslims.. In   Auschwitz we burned a culture,   thought,
creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen,   because
they produced great and wonderful people who changed the   world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life:   science, art,
international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the   world. These
are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of   tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to
ourselves that we were cured   of the disease of racism, we opened our gates
to 20 million Muslims, who   brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious
extremism and lack of   tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness
to work and support   their families with pride.

They have blown up our trains and turned our   beautiful Spanish cities into
the third world, drowning in filth and   crime.

Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government,   they plan
the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus,   in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred,
creative   skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness   and
superstition.

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews   of Europe and their
talent for a better   future for their children, their determined clinging to
life because life   is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed
by the desire for   death for themselves and others, for our children and
theirs.

What a   terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe   ..

The Jews are NOT promoting brain-washing children in   military training
camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause   the maximum number
of deaths of Jews and other non-Muslims. The Jews don’t   hijack planes, nor
kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in   German restaurants.
There is NOT one single Jew who has destroyed a church.   There is NOT a
single Jew who protests by killing people.

The Jews   don’t traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death
to all   the Infidels.

Perhaps the world’s Muslims should consider investing   more in standard
education and less in blaming the Jews for all their   problems.

Muslims must ask ‘what can they do for humankind’ before they   demand that
humankind respects them.

Regardless of your feelings   about the crisis between Israel and the
Palestinians and   Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more
culpability on Israel ‘s part, the following two   sentences really say it
all:

‘If the Arabs put down their weapons   today, there would be no more violence.
If the Jews put down their weapons   today, there would be no more Israel ..”
Benjamin   Netanyahu

When the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General   Dwight Eisenhower,
found the victims of the death camps, he ordered all   possible photographs to
be taken and for the German people from surrounding   villages to be ushered
through the camps and even made to bury the   dead.

He did this because he said in words to this effect:

‘Get   it all on record now – get the films – get the witnesses –   because
somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say   that
this never happened.’

Recently, the UK   debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school
curriculum because   it ‘offends’ the Muslim population, which claims it never
occurred. It is   not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent
of the fear that   is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving
in to   it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in   Europe ended.
This e-mail is being sent as   a memorial chain, in memory of the 6 million
Jews, 20 million Russians, 10   million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests
who were ‘murdered, raped,   burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and
humiliated’ while the German   people looked the other way.

Now more than ever, with Iran   among others, claiming the Holocaust is ‘a myth,’ it is imperative to make   sure the world never forgets.

This e-mail is intended to reach 400   million people. Be a link in the
memorial chain and help distribute this   around the world.

How many years will it be before the attack on the   World   Trade Center ‘NEVER
HAPPENED’ because it   offends some Muslim in the United States ?

Obama Chooses American Defeat

Obama Chooses American Defeat

In April, 2007, at the height of
American casualties during the Surge in Iraq, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
(D. Nev.) famously announced
“the war is lost.” His remark attracted national headlines – and a big push-back
from Republicans, who, in the wake of the 2006 elections, controlled neither
House of Congress.

An American President – George W.
Bush of Texas – had refused to accept defeat. He changed his military leaders,
launched the Surge and victory followed. And, even though, the Republicans had
lost control of Congress, President Bush’s control of the Executive branch and
the American people’s refusal to accept defeat prevailed over leading Democrats’
desire for American defeat.. It enabled the forces of the Sunni Awakening,
General Petraeus and the coalition’s troops to crush the Iraq
insurgency.

Over a thousand American soldiers died  in
Iraq
after Leader Reid’s remarkable press conference.

Democrats, like Reid, who’d predicted
defeat, never changed their views.  Now, President Barack Obama has just
guaranteed that Senator Reid’s remark will come true. Iraq is not Vietnam and
the Middle East is not Southeast Asia. Yet, the parallels – 36 years after a
Democratic Congress cut off U.S. funding for South Vietnam – are
unsettling.

Once again, a leader of the
Democratic Party has opted for American defeat – after a splendid American field
army has achieved military victory. Former New York Times Baghdad
bureau chief John Burns predicted  disaster as a result of Mr. Obama’s decision
on Hugh
Hewitt
on October 24.  “We’ll see” was the most optimism Pulitzer-Prize
winner Dexter
Filkins
could muster  on his New Yorker blog.

These guys aren’t
conservatives
. But, with Michael Yon, these famous war correspondents are
not hopeful about whether America’s sacrifice in Iraq will be
redeemed..

How can Democrats ever be trusted
with America’s national security again?

It’s a simple as
that.

Read Fred and Kimberly Kagan’s
excellent piece this weekend in the new issue of the  Weekly
Standard
for the post-mortem. The Kagans were part of the intellectual
brain trust behind the Surge – the Surge which President Obama has just thrown
away.

The United States Department of Justice, which
includes the Federal Bureau Of Investigation (the FBI) and the National Security
Division, has been
ordered
to remove all references to Islam from any
examination of Islamic terror in its training materials and procedures. That
means investigation of the Islamic beliefs, motives and goals of Islamic
terrorists in the U.S. is verboten in the Department Of Justice and the rest of
the Federal Government because accurate, knowledgeable, honest and objective
discussion of Islam has been forbidden and is no longer possible there. Islam
cannot be examined in depth or criticized in any way, shape or form and woe
betide any government employee who does.

Beyond that, Islamic apologists and supremacists whose
purpose is to turn America into an Islamic state governed by Islamic Law are the
only people the government allows to speak about Islam to its employees and they
present a distorted and totally false portrait of it which has nothing to do
with reality and history and everything to do with bringing about the downfall
of the country.

These edicts come straight from the top, straight from
President Obama, and they are a clear, unequivocal threat to freedom of speech
and freedom of expression and the survival of the United States as a free,
democratic, secular, pluralistic nation. Thanks to Obama, the tyranny of Islam
has come to the Federal Government and if Americans aren’t careful it will come
to the rest of the country as well. It is entirely predictable that Obama will
attempt to extend these edicts in some form to the American people
themselves…if he is allowed to get away with it the United States is doomed,
pure and simple. Islam and Islamists are evil personified and the U.S. is in a
war for survival with them, even if Obama doesn’t want you to think so and won’t
allow you to say so.

Memo to Americans: vote the bum out of office and
fight him at every turn because if you don’t there won’t be an America
left.

And don’t forget, as America goes so goes the
world.

ISLAM IS NOT A RELIGION LIKE OTHER RELIGIONS AND A MOSQUE IS NOT LIKE A CHURCH

ISLAM IS NOT  A RELIGION LIKE OTHER RELIGIONS
AND A MOSQUE  IS NOT LIKE A CHURCH
At the root of opposition to mosques that is now beginning to be voiced  around the country is the fear that Islam might just not be the religion of  peace that our misguided political leaders say it is or that Islamic spokesmen  from the Moslem advocacy organizations say it is. People fear that Islam is not  just another religion like Christianity or Buddhism or whatever. These fears are  well-founded; and Islamic scholars are the first ones to tell us that Islam  is NOT a religion like other religions.
For example, Yusuf Qaradawi (the most influential Muslim cleric in the  world today, the spiritual head of the Muslim Brotherhood who is admired by Imam  Rauf of the Ground Zero Mosque project) said: Islam is not a religion in the common, distorted meaning of the  word, confining its scope only to the private life of man. By saying that it is  a complete way of life, we mean that it caters for all the fields of human  existence. In fact, Islam provides guidance for all walks of life — individual  and social, material and moral, economic and political, legal and cultural,  national and international.”
This “complete way of life” is the all-encompassing Sharia sacred Islamic  law which, among other things, calls for the legal subordination of  non-Moslems to Moslems and of women to men; it requires death for homosexuals,  apostates and blasphemers. And, it calls for eternal war (jihad) against  non-Moslems until Islamic law dominates throughout the world. These doctrines  all come from the Koran and the sayings of Muhammad which are preached and  taught in every mosque in the world, and will be taught in the Ground Zero  mosque.
People need to understand why Islam is unique and not like other religions.  Then they would know that mosques are not like churches because mosques  are centers for the propagation of sharia law. Mosques are  centers for the propagation of Islamic supremacist ideology, and they should be  treated like other centers for the propagation of supremacist, violent and  imperialist ideology, such as the Communist Party or the Nazi Party.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan once famously said, “The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets,  the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our  soldiers.”
The most influential Islamic religious authority in the world  today, Yusuf Qaradawi, wrote:

“The mosque at the time of the Prophet was  his propagation center, the headquarters of the state, as it was for his  successors, the rightly guided Khalifas, the mosque was their base for all their  activities political as well as non-political…. the mission of the mosque as  required by correct Islam is not an isolation from the politics… From ancient  times the mosque has had a role in jihad for the sake of Allah, resisting the  enemies of this religion from the invading occupiers. That blessed Intifada in  the land of the prophets, Palestine, started from none other but the mosques,  and it first all came from the minarets and it was first known as the mosque  revolution. The mosque’s role in the Afghan jihad, and every Islamic jihad  cannot be denied.”

It is not religious bigotry to expose the religious bigotry of Islam; it is  ideological self-defense.

Responding to the Mullahs’ Jihad in America

Responding to the Mullahs’ Jihad in America

After recovering from the shock of the foiled Iranian terror plot, the real questions emerge:

(1) How prepared are we for future attacks?

(2) How likely is it that more attacks will be launched?

And most importantly:

(3) How will the U.S. now respond?

The plot clearly demonstrates the Iranian regime’s disposition toward the United States. Had the Iranians been successful in their planned executions, it would have been a large-scale terror attack on U.S. soil. They might not have succeeded this time, but now we must worry about their next plan — and whether it will be carried out by Iranians or by copycat terrorists.

If the Iranian regime’s sole goal was to knock out the Saudi ambassador, Adel Al-Jubeir, they could have done so in an easier place with less security, vigilance and national intelligence. They could have followed him to an obscure venue. Yet they chose to make a point. They chose to carry out the attack on U.S. soil, to bomb the Israeli Embassy and to kill some American citizens while they were at it.

Even if the U.S. calls this an act of war, the American government cannot respond as such. In the case of Iran, the U.S. still maintains that “all options” are on the table, which acknowledges the option of a military attack.  But it would help us to focus more on the other options, namely, non-militaristic aggression, even though many believe sanctions have not been effective in combating the Iranian government. There is evidence to prove that sanctions have in fact choked off the regime in various ways. However, in order to truly benefit from sanctions, the U.S. would have to better enforce them, apply them more strategically in areas such as banking and travel and to freeze assets.

The U.S. could also employ the help of other nations who have ducked out of the responsibility of punishing this global enemy.  Lastly, and most importantly, the U.S. should not forget the easiest and most powerful tool in combating the Iranian regime: its 70 million disenchanted people.  While the Mullahs’ regime in Tehran may have deep support, both financially and through an extensive network of clergy and Revolutionary Guardsmen, the people of Iran and their desire to break free from this tyrannical regime is far more widespread across a large and vibrant population.

Manssor Arbabsiar, one of the two men charged in the “international murder-for-hire scheme,”  was a man who lived in Texas for decades. He sold used cars and was part of a community. Further investigations will have to look closely at Iran’s tentacles working in the U.S. Currently, there are hundreds of known former IRGC generals and officers living in this country with green cards and citizenship status, in addition to thousands of their close relatives, many of whom send their children to attend this country’s best universities.  They are the eyes and ears of the Iranian government and in this case the enabler of a convoluted terror plot. The question then arises: Why and how does the U.S. allow these individuals to enter and live in this country when it is well known that the average person currently has trouble getting even a tourist’s visa to come visit family here in the States?

A more recent entanglement that was brought to light is Iran’s presence in South and Central America and more frighteningly, its involvement with some of the world’s most dangerous drug cartels.  An anonymous source has explained that there is a huge network of Iranian intelligence and IRGC forces in Mexico close to the border with the U.S. The job of these networks is to gather intelligence, smuggle agents into the U.S., launder money for the cartels, and even bribe Mexican politicians to affect elections in Mexico.  Aside from the terror cells that we now know exist, we must take into consideration the military implications of having the IRGC present on the U.S./Mexico border.

We are in a situation in which this attempted terror attack can be seen as an act of war. We have tried the path of negotiation with Iran’s government, but that has been rejected numerous times. Over  time and by remaining inactive, we have become soft and irrelevant in  the eyes of the Iranian regime, which is carrying on with its nuclear  program and cracking down on protesters who dare voice their hunger for freedom. We waited and let them corner us, and we allowed them to take the first  shot. Remaining idle at this point would set us back farther and will  allow Iran to boldly continue with its nuclear and terrorist ambitions.   What the U.S. does right now in retaliation will be crucial in defining  the ties between Iran and the U.S.

Secret panel can put Americans on “kill list’

Secret panel can put Americans on “kill list’

Wed, Oct 5 2011

By Mark Hosenball

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – American militants like Anwar al-Awlaki are placed on a kill or capture list by a secretive panel of senior government officials, which then informs the president of its decisions, according to officials.

There is no public record of the operations or decisions of the panel, which is a subset of the White House’s National Security Council, several current and former officials said. Neither is there any law establishing its existence or setting out the rules by which it is supposed to operate.

The panel was behind the decision to add Awlaki, a U.S.-born militant preacher with alleged al Qaeda connections, to the target list. He was killed by a CIA drone strike in Yemen late last month.

The role of the president in ordering or ratifying a decision to target a citizen is fuzzy. White House spokesman Tommy Vietor declined to discuss anything about the process.

Current and former officials said that to the best of their knowledge, Awlaki, who the White House said was a key figure in al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, al Qaeda’s Yemen-based affiliate, had been the only American put on a government list targeting people for capture or death due to their alleged involvement with militants.

The White House is portraying the killing of Awlaki as a demonstration of President Barack Obama’s toughness toward militants who threaten the United States. But the process that led to Awlaki’s killing has drawn fierce criticism from both the political left and right.

In an ironic turn, Obama, who ran for president denouncing predecessor George W. Bush’s expansive use of executive power in his “war on terrorism,” is being attacked in some quarters for using similar tactics. They include secret legal justifications and undisclosed intelligence assessments.

Liberals criticized the drone attack on an American citizen as extra-judicial murder.

Conservatives criticized Obama for refusing to release a Justice Department legal opinion that reportedly justified killing Awlaki. They accuse Obama of hypocrisy, noting his administration insisted on publishing Bush-era administration legal memos justifying the use of interrogation techniques many equate with torture, but refused to make public its rationale for killing a citizen without due process.

Some details about how the administration went about targeting Awlaki emerged on Tuesday when the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Representative Dutch Ruppersberger, was asked by reporters about the killing.

The process involves “going through the National Security Council, then it eventually goes to the president, but the National Security Council does the investigation, they have lawyers, they review, they look at the situation, you have input from the military, and also, we make sure that we follow international law,” Ruppersberger said.

LAWYERS CONSULTED

Other officials said the role of the president in the process was murkier than what Ruppersberger described.

They said targeting recommendations are drawn up by a committee of mid-level National Security Council and agency officials. Their recommendations are then sent to the panel of NSC “principals,” meaning Cabinet secretaries and intelligence unit chiefs, for approval. The panel of principals could have different memberships when considering different operational issues, they said.

The officials insisted on anonymity to discuss sensitive information.

They confirmed that lawyers, including those in the Justice Department, were consulted before Awlaki’s name was added to the target list.

Two principal legal theories were advanced, an official said: first, that the actions were permitted by Congress when it authorized the use of military forces against militants in the wake of the attacks of September 11, 2001; and they are permitted under international law if a country is defending itself.

Several officials said that when Awlaki became the first American put on the target list, Obama was not required personally to approve the targeting of a person. But one official said Obama would be notified of the principals’ decision. If he objected, the decision would be nullified, the official said.

A former official said one of the reasons for making senior officials principally responsible for nominating Americans for the target list was to “protect” the president.

Officials confirmed that a second American, Samir Khan, was killed in the drone attack that killed Awlaki. Khan had served as editor of Inspire, a glossy English-language magazine used by AQAP as a propaganda and recruitment vehicle.

But rather than being specifically targeted by drone operators, Khan was in the wrong place at the wrong time, officials said. Ruppersberger appeared to confirm that, saying Khan’s death was “collateral,” meaning he was not an intentional target of the drone strike.

When the name of a foreign, rather than American, militant is added to targeting lists, the decision is made within the intelligence community and normally does not require approval by high-level NSC officials.

‘FROM INSPIRATIONAL TO OPERATIONAL’

Officials said Awlaki, whose fierce sermons were widely circulated on English-language militant websites, was targeted because Washington accumulated information his role in AQAP had gone “from inspirational to operational.” That meant that instead of just propagandizing in favor of al Qaeda objectives, Awlaki allegedly began to participate directly in plots against American targets.

“Let me underscore, Awlaki is no mere messenger but someone integrally involved in lethal terrorist activities,” Daniel Benjamin, top counterterrorism official at the State Department, warned last spring.

The Obama administration has not made public an accounting of the classified evidence that Awlaki was operationally involved in planning terrorist attacks.

But officials acknowledged that some of the intelligence purporting to show Awlaki’s hands-on role in plotting attacks was patchy.

For instance, one plot in which authorities have said Awlaki was involved Nigerian-born Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, accused of trying to blow up a Detroit-bound U.S. airliner on Christmas Day 2009 with a bomb hidden in his underpants.

There is no doubt Abdulmutallab was an admirer or follower of Awlaki, since he admitted that to U.S. investigators. When he appeared in a Detroit courtroom earlier this week for the start of his trial on bomb-plot charges, he proclaimed, “Anwar is alive.”

But at the time the White House was considering putting Awlaki on the U.S. target list, intelligence connecting Awlaki specifically to Abdulmutallab and his alleged bomb plot was partial. Officials said at the time the United States had voice intercepts involving a phone known to have been used by Awlaki and someone who they believed, but were not positive, was Abdulmutallab.

Awlaki was also implicated in a case in which a British Airways employee was imprisoned for plotting to blow up a U.S.-bound plane. E-mails retrieved by authorities from the employee’s computer showed what an investigator described as ” operational contact” between Britain and Yemen.

Authorities believe the contacts were mainly between the U.K.-based suspect and his brother. But there was a strong suspicion Awlaki was at the brother’s side when the messages were dispatched. British media reported that in one message, the person on the Yemeni end supposedly said, “Our highest priority is the US … With the people you have, is it possible to get a package or a person with a package on board a flight heading to the US?”

U.S. officials contrast intelligence suggesting Awlaki’s involvement in specific plots with the activities of Adam Gadahn, an American citizen who became a principal English-language propagandist for the core al Qaeda network formerly led by Osama bin Laden.

While Gadahn appeared in angry videos calling for attacks on the United States, officials said he had not been specifically targeted for capture or killing by U.S. forces because he was regarded as a loudmouth not directly involved in plotting attacks.

Showing some spine, Congress blocks $200 million in aid to Palestinians

Showing some spine, Congress blocks $200 million in aid to
Palestinians

Rick Moran

Why reward Abbas for refusing to
negotiate and use the UN to end run the peace process?

The
Independent:

The United States Congress has
blocked nearly $200m in aid for the Palestinians, threatening projects such as
food aid, health care, and support for efforts to build a functioning
state.

The decision to delay the payments
runs counter to the wishes of the Obama administration and reflects
Congressional anger at Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s so far unrealised
pursuit of Fatah-Hamas reconciliation and statehood recognition at the UN.

The freezing of the funds, which were
to have been dispersed in the US fiscal year that ends today, is the most
tangible sign yet of the seriousness of Congressional leaders’ threats of an
even wider halt to funding in the coming year if Mr Abbas continues with his
actions at the UN. It was strongly condemned yesterday by the Palestinian
Authority.

There have been persistent demands in
Congress to withhold up to $600m – the average amount given by the US in
bilateral assistance to the West Bank and Gaza every year since 2008 – in the
next financial year over the issue.

The administration remains, as does
Congress, opposed to the Palestinians’ application for full UN membership, which
Mr Abbas submitted last week. But it argues that assistance to the Palestinian
people is what a US official described as “an essential part of the US
commitment to a secure future and two-state solution for Palestinians”.

Nonsense. What will secure a future
two state solution is Hamas and Fatah recognizing Israel’s right to exist as a
Jewish state within secure borders. Accepting anything short of that would be
suicide for Israel. If the US Congress can pressure the Palestinians to
recognize reality and negotiate in good faith on those terms, they would have
advanced the peace process.

Also, the fact that the Palestinians
passionately hate America makes it a little odd that they would object to the
cut off. I would have thought they would be dancing in the streets – just like
they did after the towers fell on 9/11.

Obama’s Analysts:Oops! We Put Muslim Radicals in Charge of Libya

Ben Johnson,The White House Watch

Even as the Obama administration celebrates the killing of American-born
al-Qaeda operative Anwar al-Awlaki and his
traitorous friend Samir Khan
in Yemen, its analysts are beginning to admit
their war by decree in Libya empowered Islamic extremists bent on
exporting jihad throughout the region. Thanks to Obama’s
policies,al-Qaeda-linked radicals may be pillaging Muammar Qaddafi’s stockpile
of weapons and receiving shipments of contraband from overseas.

In the closest thing to an admission Obama administration figures lied us
into war,Reuters reports:

During the half-year campaign by rebels to drive Muammar Gaddafi from
power,U.S. and NATO officials downplayed fears that al Qaeda or other militants
would infiltrate anti-Gaddafi forces or take advantage of disorder to establish
footholds in Libya.

Since then, however, the assessment of top experts inside the U.S. government
has sharpened.

Former CIA asset and Obama adviser Bruce Riedel summarizes,“There is a great
deal of concern that the jihadi cadre now are going to be exporting
their ideas and weapons toward the east and west.”

This author reported
the cause of their alarm a month ago. The National Transitional Council
(NTC),the body the United States now exclusively recognizes as the official
government of Libya,elected
Abdel Hakim Belhaj commander of the Tripoli Military Council in late August.
Belhaj is the co-founder of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG),which the
State Department designated a foreign terrorist organization in December
2004
. The New York Times relates
that LIFG members received “combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan” —fighting
the United States. Belhaj, who met Osama bin Laden twice, now commands 8,000 troops,Libya’s largest fighting force.

U.S. analysts, who covered up the links the “rebels”have to Islamic
fundamentalists, now worry Belhaj and his LIFG warriors have raided Qaddafi’s
arsenal, despoiling it of anti-aircraft weapons that could one day be turned
against U.S. or NATO planes.

The radicals may not need Qaddafi’s weapons,as other nations in the area are
reportedly replenishing their cache. Rebels in the city of Zintan intercepted a
cargo shipment to Belhaj from the nation of Qatar, which Belhaj insisted
contained food and milk. Those who opened it say it contained weapons. Taking
note of the interference Mohamed Benrasali,a leading figure in the Libyan
government, replied,“We are very sorry the Qataris have taken the decision to
support Belhaj’s brigade. This will backfire on our Qatari friends.”

Despite Benrasali’s tough talk, one suspects the fire will aimed in his
direction.

Qatar was influenced to support the rebels by Sheik Ali Salabi,a Libyan
Islamic scholar who lives in the monarchy….

Hamas leader Khaled Meshal told an international conference in Iran on Saturday that “resistance” was the only option left for the Palestinians.

Meshal was addressing the “5th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada” in Iran’s capital Tehran.

“Palestinians must resort to resistance no matter how costly it is, until Palestine is free and Israel is destroyed,” Meshal said.

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who also spoke at the conference on Saturday, assailed a two state solution for Israel and the Palestinians, saying the Palestinian bid for statehood at the United Nations is doomed to fail.

Khamenei told the conference, which was attended by other by senior Palestinian militant leaders as well as Mashaal, that the Palestinians should not limit themselves to seeking a country based on the pre-1967 borders because “all land belongs to Palestinians.”

“Our claim is freedom of Palestine, not part of Palestine. Any plan that partitions Palestine is totally rejected,” Khamenei told the conference.

“Palestine spans from the river (Jordan) to the sea (Mediterranean), nothing less.”

Khamenei claimed that a two state solution would mean “giving in to the demand of the Zionists” and that it would “trample the rights of the Palestinian people” to live on their land.

Khamenei also called Israel a “cancerous tumor” that should be removed.

Hamas has repeatedly expressed its opposition to the Palestinian bid for statehood in the UN, led by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Last week, Gaza’s Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh accused Abbas.of relinquishing Palestinian rights by seeking recognition for a state in the pre-1967 borders.

“The Palestinian people do not beg the world for a state, and the state can’t be created through decisions and initiatives,” Haniyeh said. “States liberate their land first and then the political body can be established.”
