2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV: “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
It is very easy to allow your thoughts to dwell on the worldly concerns each of us has. The mind wanders to thoughts of self pity. If we have been mentally wounded by someone, it is easy for our minds to wonder to thoughts of revenge and retribution. Our thoughts move to things like, “if I had only said this that would have put them in their place.” To sit and allow your mind to dwell on negatives is not healthy. Our vain imaginings are the seat of discontent and misery. Each of us has the ability to control what we think. As negative thoughts come to mind be aware of them and replace them with the correct response. How do we know the correct response? We have the perfect example in the life of Jesus. And each of us has access to the Holy Spirit. Jesus and the Holy Spirit are only a prayer away. If you will listen they will guide you through your troubled times. As you ponder the day’s events try to look at each event through the mind of Christ. How would Jesus have handled each problem? Dwelling on the negative side of life brings only misery and discontent. It’s not worth it. Dwelling in the Holy places with the mind of Christ brings peace and contentment.

Bud,
This is great!
I will pass it on to others.
We often think in the negitive, when we are under stress. This is a lesson that we need to be reminded of often.
Thanks,
Dulcy
