Washington Times Columnist to Obama:Resign!

Ben Johnson,The White House Watch

The pages of The Washington Times today reflect the nation’s
disenchantment with Barack Obama’s presidency. The op-ed section contains an
article by Jeffrey T. Kuhner, president of the Edmund Burke Institute for American
Renewal
,entitled,“Don’t
Go on Vacation —Just GO.”

Last September,Kuhner called
for Obama’s impeachment.
This year,he’s taken a new tack:Telling Obama to
quit:

Mr. Obama is the most arrogant,self-absorbed and self-obsessed president in
U.S. history. Nothing is ever his fault. He blames everyone and everything for
America’s economic woes –Tea Partyers,Wall Street,Japanese earthquakes,insurance
executives, oil companies, millionaires and corporate jet owners. He lashes out at
imaginary enemies without ever taking personal responsibility. In his mind,he is
–and always will be –the Anointed One.

There is only one solution:Drive him from office. Americans should forge a
mass grassroots movement demanding that Mr. Obama step down –immediately.
Through bumper stickers,picket signs,posters,T-shirts and rallies,tens of
millions of citizens should express the same message:Leave. It is highly
unlikely he will step aside, but such a movement would cripple the president’s
authority and possibly blunt him from doing further harm. It also would puncture
his boundless ego. A widespread manifestation of no confidence would break him
–politically, morally and psychologically –in order to save America. Mr. Obama is
out of his depth. He lacks the character, intelligence, skills and experience –the
basic competence –to be the leader of the free world.

Resign,Mr. President.

Of course,Obama resigning is as likely to occur as Bill Clinton entering a
monastery;they both love the thrill they get from their self-indulgent pursuits
too much to forsake them for their own good, much less the nation’s.
However, there is some value in his analysis.

A growing number of Democrats are sick of Obama, too. Contrary to what some
people believe, political parties are not primarily dedicated to promoting ideals
or ideologies. They are dedicated to power:getting it,exercising it,keeping
it,and denying it to their enemies. Democrats understand this better than
Republicans,in part because Democrats are the statist party,in part because
Republicans believe in the transcendent values the Left denies. Democrats are
happy Obama is president;they generally agree with him even when they are afraid
to say so;and they hope he will be re-elected in 2012. But they saw the
monumental butt-thumping the American people gave them in 2010,and they aren’t
willing….

Mexicans Who Happen to be Living in America Demand Racial-Grievance Studies

Mexicans Who Happen to be Living in America Demand Racial-Grievance
Studies

May 13th, 2011

Don Feder, GrassTopsUSA.com

Multiculturalism, which used to be merely noxious, has become a raging
infection which poses as much of a threat to America as the national debt or
terrorism — before Osama assumed room temperature.

Recently, a gang of ethnocentric thugs took over a meeting of the governing
board of the Tucson, Arizona, Unified School District, chaining themselves to
desks, screaming slogans, and chasing board members from the room.

They were enraged by an attempt to make a course that teaches history “from a
Mexican-American perspective” optional instead of a substitute for a required
course in U.S. history.

The Mexican American Studies Program incites approximately 1,700 middle-and
high-school students in the district annually.

After an investigation, Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom
Horne determined that the basic theme of the curriculum (AKA: Raza — “the race”
— Studies) is that Hispanic students “were and continue to be victims of a
racist American society driven by the interests of middle- and upper-class
whites.”

Classrooms in which this pedagogy is perpetrated are decorated with pictures
of such Latino “heroes” as Castro and Che Guevara.

Textbooks refer to citizens of this country as “Anglos” or “Euroamericans”
(rather than Americans) and include such gems as an essay by one Robert Jensen,
which claims Thanksgiving is a “white supremacist holiday” that should be
replaced by a “National Day of Atonement” for gringo sins against people of
color.

The introductory chapter promises: “We will see how half of Mexico
(California, Texas and the Southwest) was ripped off by trickery and
violence. We will see how Chicanos became a colonized people. In the process of
being colonized, we were robbed of land and other resources.” The nerve of those
Texans, tricking Santa Anna into attacking the Alamo and killing its
defenders to the last man.

In violation of a recently enacted Arizona law, the curriculum promotes the overthrow of the United States government and “resentment toward a race or class of people,” is “designed primarily for pupils of a particular ethnic group” and advocates “ethnic solidarity instead of treatment of pupils as individuals.”

The multiculturalist assault on America is multifaceted.

In 2010, on Cinco de Mayo (which celebrates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory
over the French – big whoopee), a group of patriotic students at the Live Oak
High School in Morgan Hill, California, were sent home for wearing American-flag
t-shirts. Assistant Principal Miguel Rodriguez is said to have….

Obama is Secretly Talking with the Taliban, Says It’s What Reagan Would Do

Obama is Secretly Talking with the Taliban, Says It’s What Reagan
Would Do

February 22nd, 2011

Ben Johnson, FloydReports.com

With Islamic
riots
, skyrocketing deficits, and state-skipping Democratic legislators
hogging the headlines, this item has not yet gotten the attention it deserves.
Steve Coll writes
in The New Yorker
, “The Obama Administration has entered into
direct, secret talks with senior Afghan Taliban leaders, several people briefed
about the talks told me last week.” Obama mentioned reaching
out to “Taliban moderates” in 2009
, only to drop the idea after public
backlash. Apparently, the Obama administration has decided now is the
time it wishes to look weak, hopeless, and pathetic.
Hillary Clinton detailed the American stance before a meeting of the Asia
Society recently. She emphasized that if the Taliban returned to its history of
repression and terror incubation, it would risk being branded “an enemy of the
international community.” Mullah Omar and his buddies must be shaking in their
turbans.
Hillary tried to calm the situation, saying, “I know that reconciling with an
adversary that can be as brutal as the Taliban sounds distasteful, even
unimaginable.” But she insisted, this is what Reagan would do.
She attributed her policy to Ronald Reagan and Richard Holbrooke. The lesson
she and Obama learned from The Gipper is….

Obama Gives Green Light to the Muslim Brotherhood

Obama Gives Green Light to the Muslim
Brotherhood

February 3rd, 2011

Craig Whitlock, The Washington Post

As it braces for the likelihood of a new ruler in Egypt, the U.S. government
is rapidly reassessing its tenuous relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood, an
opposition movement whose fundamentalist ideology has long been a source of
distrust in Washington.
Although the group has played a secondary role in the swelling protests that
are threatening to topple President Hosni Mubarak, U.S. officials have
acknowledged the political reality that the Muslim Brotherhood is poised to
assume at least a share of power should Egypt hold free and fair elections in
the coming months.
On Monday, in what analysts said was a clear reference to the Brotherhood,
the White House said a new government in Egypt should “include a whole host of
important non-secular actors.”
The move drew the skepticism of some U.S. officials who have argued that the
White House should embrace opposition groups that are more likely to support a
democratic government in Egypt, rather than one dedicated to the establishment
of religious law…
Members of the movement are often vague about their political goals. In an
interview this week with the BBC, Kamal el-Helbawy, a Muslim Brotherhood leader
in exile in Britain, said the group wants “freedom, consultation, equality,
freedom of everything.”
He ducked questions, however, about whether an Egyptian government led by the
Brotherhood would guarantee equal rights for other religious groups – such as
Egypt’s Coptic Christians – and women. When asked whether all women would be
required to wear veils, he said, “not necessarily.”
…Analysts said the movement strives in public to play down concerns about its
agenda, partly for self-preservation. By presenting itself as a moderate group
that would embrace a multi-party democracy, it seeks to preempt worries about
its goals, said Emad Shahin, an Egyptian American scholar at the University of
Notre Dame.
“They don’t want to be seen as taking part in an uprising or upheaval that
seeks to establish an Iranian-type government,” he said. “They need to shield
themselves behind a broader opposition front.”

Egypt in flames; Obama takes it easy

Egypt in flames; Obama takes it easy

Jeannie
DeAngelis

Barack Obama has mastered the fine art of leaving work
at the office and is committed to not falling into the proverbial: “All
work
and no play … dull boy” trap.

President Obama is the type of
leader who doesn’t let anything get in the way of a well-deserved day off.
Let’s face it; Barack is first and foremost a government employee.  The
President’s breaks are on schedule, work hours tightly defined, vacations well
spaced, and if it’s the weekend, listen closely as you may hear the titular
leader of the free world whispering: “TGIF.”

Over the weekend, “Islamic
radicals escaped
from prison
, the Muslim Brotherhood joined
Elbaradei
on the street, and socialists continued
to mobilize protests
in Cairo.” And where was Obama?  Now, careful don’t
judge the guy – he was sitting in the bleachers watching his daughter play
basketball.

That’s right – Barack Obama’s leisurely winter weekend
included cheering Sasha on at the Jane E. Lawton Community Recreation Center in
Chevy Chase, MD.  Not
to worry
. While Obama was courtside, “Vice President Joe
Biden
, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other top administration
officials took part in a two-hour meeting about the situation in Egypt.”

Although absent in the flesh, America’s otherwise occupied President
attended the Egypt summit in spirit.  Obama received a scheduled “update from
his national security team later in the day,” but hopefully not while trying to
squeeze in a cat nap.

If a long night of partying lies ahead, despite
Mideast unrest, even a president deserves a siesta now and then.  After a
morning recreating at the community center while Egypt teetered on the brink
Islamic rule and looters destroyed ancient
artifacts
, Obama, with his priorities in order, slipped into party duds and
spent two hours at an evening soiree for outgoing top political advisor David
Axelrod
.

All the DC big shots were there. Instead of questioning
Obama on how the administration can support both Egyptian protestors and a
dictator at the same
time
, press pool reporters chose to clink
glasses
with Barry at former campaign/health care spokesperson and current
VP of Atlantic Media Linda
Douglas’s house. The impartial group included:  “ABC’s Jake Tapper, NBC’s Chuck
Todd, National Journal’s Major Garrett, and John Harwood of CNBC and the New
York Times.”

Also bidding adieu to Spin Doctor Axelrod were three
notable secretaries. Tim Geithner represented the Treasury Department, Arne
Duncan the Department of Education, and Steven Chu the Department of Energy.
Mrs. Obama was missing from the festivities, but if history is any predictor of
future behavior, in solidarity with the oppressed Egyptian people the First Lady
could have been canvassing a potential designer to whip up a Nefertiti-style
ensemble similar to the red-themed
creation
she wore to the recent Chinese State Dinner.

Either way,
Barack Obama was careful to slowly ease himself back into the
workweek.  As he did, a reporter in Beirut
observed
: “Mubarak seems to be surrounding himself with hard-line security
officials, possibly to protect himself from a military coup but more likely to
lay the groundwork to use force to crush the protests, which appear to be
gathering momentum.” In addition, the possibility remains that Egypt could fall
into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood, which means Israel would be one
country shy of being surrounded on all
sides by enemies.

Hate to ruin the party, but either one of those two
scenarios could happen, and if they do, despite the President’s pre-planned
schedule it looks like he may have to ditch basketball games, catnaps, and tony
cocktail parties and spend a few weekends at the office.

Don’t cry for me Palestine

Don’t cry for me Palestine

Ethel C. Fenig

The terrorists and their bigoted, smug enablers set sail from Turkey on a propaganda voyage to ostensibly deliver goods to the deprived residents of Gaza living under conditions Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton called

“unsustainable and unacceptable. Israel’s legitimate security needs must be met just as the Palestinians’ legitimate needs for sustained humanitarian assistance and regular access for reconstruction materials must also be assured.”

But is the situation “unsustainable and unacceptable”? Are the Gazans lacking “humanitarian assistance and regular access for reconstruction materials”? Let’s take a look at how the Gazans themselves are faring, courtesy of their own magazine, Palestine Today.

Just look at that bountiful supply of all kinds of healthy food, clothing, even electronic goodies and toys! Such fun in the sun.

Thanks to regular trade, deliveries of food and medicines from Israel and Egypt plus financial aid from a broke Europe and smuggling the objects of misguided international affection are doing very well–better than their imperialist saviors.

Meanwhile the humanitarian aid deprived Gazans fired several more of their endless supply of rockets into civilian areas, luckily causing no harm according to Reuters . The Israelis fired back, killing five terrorists. Does this meet Clinton’s standard of “legitimate security needs”? Condemnation of Israel for defending itself undoubtedly to follow.

So, will the next wave of the fascist flotilla change course to Kurdistan, Darfur or, for the truly courageous, North Korea? And will Turkey finally apologize to Armenia and somehow compensate its citizens for the Turk slaughter of Armenians nearly a century ago? Will the Palestinians share their good fortune and wealth with those truly deserving? Will the UN divert its attention from bashing Israel to the vital humanitarian issues of the day?

Because the true issue for all involved is demonizing Israel rather than aid the truly deserving, the answer is no. The Big Lie continues, devaluing all those who spout it.

Hillary: Brazil Growing Like Crazy

Hillary: Brazil Growing Like Crazy

Gene Schwimmer

What’s rapid economic growth to a Democrat?  Or truth?  Or fairness?  Hillary Clinton gave us pretty good indication of all three on May 27th, when she said:

The rich are not paying their fair share in any nation that is facing the kind of employment issues [America currently does] – whether it’s individual, corporate or whatever [form of] taxation forms.
She then went on to cite Brazil as a paragon of economic growth – and taxation:
Brazil has the highest tax-to-GDP rate in the Western Hemisphere and guess what – they’re growing like crazy.
But, as with any “fact” a Clinton or an Obama apparatchik cites, you need to look it up for yourself.  Which I did.   Brazil’s GDP grew 2.0% in the last quarter.  The average rates for 2007, 2008 and 2009 were 1.61%, 0.39% and 0.96%, respectively.
For those who may be wondering, our own GDP growth in the last quarter was 3.00%.  But I digress.  The point is:  Either (1) Hillary didn’t know Brazil’s actual growth rate; (2) she did know, but lied about it or (3) she knew and considers 3.00% GDP growth “growing like crazy.”  Pick any one, two, or – this is the Obama administration, after all – all three.

Thomas Lifson adds:

Brazil’s economy is benefitting from offshore oil exploration and development – the sort of thing Obama wants to stop in the wake of his failure to contain the Gulf oil spill by implementing the the existing plan.

Sarah Palin: American Apology Tour Continues

Sarah Palin: American Apology Tour Continues

American Apology Tour Continues
On Fox News this morning, State Department Spokesman P.J. Crowley became the third Obama administration official in short succession to admit that he hadn’t actually bothered to read Arizona’s 10-page long “secure the border” bill before condemning it and criticizing Americans who support Arizona’s necessary efforts to do the job the Obama Administration should be doing. Crowley’s statement follows similar admissions from Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano.

At first blush this revelation seemed unbelievable, but maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. This now seems “the Washington way” of doing things. If the party in power tells us they have to pass bills in order to find out what’s actually in them, they can also criticize bills (and divide the country with ensuing rhetoric) without actually reading them.

Still I can’t help but feel outraged on behalf of Arizona’s citizens for the incompetence shown by these Administration officials. Arizonans have the courage to do what the Obama administration has failed to do in its first year and a half in office – namely secure our border and enforce our federal laws. And as a result, Arizonans have been subjected to a campaign of baseless accusations by the same people who freely admit they haven’t a clue about what they’re actually campaigning against.

The absolute low point of this campaign came last Friday, when a U.S. State Department delegation met with Chinese negotiators to discuss human rights. Apparently, our State Department felt it necessary to make their Chinese guests feel less bad about their own record of human rights abuses by repeatedly atoning for American “sins” – including, it seems, the Arizona immigration/pro-border security law. Asked if Arizona came up at all during the meeting, Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner answered:

“We brought it up early and often. It was mentioned in the first session, and as a troubling trend in our society and an indication that we have to deal with issues of discrimination or potential discrimination, and that these are issues very much being debated in our own society.”

Note that he said “We brought it up” – not the Chinese, but the U.S. State Department’s own delegation. Instead of grilling the Chinese about their appalling record on human rights, the State Department continued the unbelievable apology tour by raising “early and often” Arizona’s decision to secure our border.

Arizona’s law, which just mirrors the federal law, simply allows the police to ask those whom they have already stopped for some form of identification like a driver’s license. By what absurd stretch of the imagination is that the moral equivalent of China’s lack of freedoms, population controls (including forced abortions), censorship, and arbitrary detentions?

Surely our U.S. Ambassador to China, John Huntsman, must disagree with the Obama Administration’s continued apology tour? We have nothing to apologize for. If Administration officials want to apologize to anyone, apologize to the American people for the fact that after a year and a half in office, they still haven’t done anything to secure our borders, and they join our President in making false suggestions about Arizona’s effort.

Part-Time Allies Yemen and Pakistan are still not committed to the war against radical Islam.

Part-Time Allies

Posted By Ryan Mauro On May 19, 2010 @ 12:06 am In FrontPage | 1 Comment

President Bush famously said after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks that every country had to decide whether they were with us or against us. Unfortunately, several so-called allies have decided to tackle some terrorist groups and not others, believing that the U.S. has no other option but to accept their half-hearted collaboration. Recent news from Yemen and Pakistan show that these two countries are double-dealing and need to be held accountable.

The Yemeni Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi announced [1] that high-level Al-Qaeda leader, Anwar al-Awlaki, will not be extradited to the United States if they capture him, even though he is an American citizen. Al-Awlaki is thought to be connected to the Fort Hood shooting and the Christmas Day underwear bomb plot. The Al-Qaeda branch in Yemen is becoming increasingly active, with up to 36 former prison inmates in the U.S. having joined [2] the group.

This follows an earlier incident where al-Qirbi said [3] that his government was not actively trying to arrest al-Awlaki, saying he was seen as a preacher. He then clarified [4] that statement, saying he was only referring to the period when al-Awlaki initially moved to Yemen from the U.S. and was not accused of being involved in terrorism. He explained that the Yemeni government wants to arrest al-Awlaki, but blamed the U.S. for not providing adequate intelligence to allow them to locate him. We have heard the Pakistanis use a similar defense over the years when confronted with their resistance to arresting Taliban leaders.

Yemen has long harbored Al-Qaeda and radical Salafi elements, making various deals [5] with them and openly negotiating truces when conflict arose. President Saleh’s government and security forces are known to have close ties to the Salafi tribes, whose members are reliable allies when fighting the radical Shiite Houthi rebels.

Imprisoned Al-Qaeda members frequently “escape” from prison. In February 2006, 23 Al-Qaeda members, including some involved in the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole and the 2003 bombings in Riyadh, found [6] their way out of a high-security prison. When they were rearrested, the Yemeni government pardoned them after they disavowed terrorism. In February 2009, Yemen released [7] 170 Al-Qaeda members after they promised not to return to terrorism. The Arab press reported [8] last year that two Al-Qaeda camps were in Yemen, with one in Abyan Province housing about 400 terrorists.

The problem is similar in Pakistan. Although the Pakistani military has launched offensives to take back territory held by Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and like-minded terrorists, the government is still allowing some terrorist groups and Taliban figures to have freedom on their soil. The arrest in February of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the second-in-command of the Taliban, was seen as a turning point, but at least two other senior Taliban officials were released. [9]

The Haqqani network, which is allied to the Taliban, remains immune [10] from Pakistani counter-terrorism efforts. Last May, U.S. intelligence found [11] that the Taliban’s capabilities had expanded due to the assistance of members of Pakistan’s ISI intelligence service which was providing money, weapons and even “strategic planning guidance.” The ISI’s S-Wing [12] was accused of supporting the branch of the Taliban in Quetta in Baluchistan Province, where Mullah Omar is believed to be, as well as the Haqqani network and the forces led by Guldbuddin Hekmatyar, another Taliban ally.

The failed plot by Faisal Shahzad and the Pakistani Taliban to set off a car bomb in Times Square proves that all jihadist groups in Pakistan must be eliminated in order to stop attacks on the homeland and on American interests. At least four members of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) have been arrested by the Pakistani authorities as part of their investigation into Shahzad, and he has told his captors that he met with a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) while in Pakistan. In December, five Americans who traveled to Pakistan to join the Taliban and Al-Qaeda stayed at a safehouse provided by a member of Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The leader of Jaish-e-Mohammed openly [13] preaches anti-Western extremism and jihad in Pakistan and although Lashkar-e-Taiba is banned, it continues to operate under the name of Jamaat-ud-Dawa. Hafiz Mohammed Saeed, the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba, is on house arrest but still preaches [14] to thousands in Lahore.

The two groups are even allowed to operate schools. Reporters have found [15] two madrasses openly run by Jaish-e-Mohammed. After the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the LET said [16] it ran over 202 schools as well as hospitals and charities in the country. Only a handful of the schools have been closed. Reporters have also observed the JEM’s headquarters in Bahawalpur in Punjab Province operating freely. After their presence was learned of, a checkpoint was established but the facility remained open.

Arnaud de Borchgrave wrote [17] in The Washington Times recently that Pakistan “is still producing an estimated 10,000 potential jihadis a year out of 500,000 graduates from Pakistan’s 11,000 madrasses.” Any school run by extremist needs to be seen as an enemy base, no different than a training camp.

The U.S. cannot afford to allow Yemen and Pakistan to continue their current behavior. The governments of these two countries may argue that aggressive action could cause a backlash. The U.S. must emphasize that if action is not taken by them, then the CIA’s drones will take the action for them. The public pressure they fear will become a reality due to their own inaction.

This conflict is more than a war against Al-Qaeda. It is a war against an entire radical Islamic infrastructure with each component being as important as the next. There must be no distinction made between Al-Qaeda and its affiliates, like the one in Yemen, and similar but separate groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed in Pakistan.

Barack Obama’s top ten insults against Israel

Barack Obama’s top ten insults against Israel

By Nile Gardiner World Last updated: April 26th, 2010

Last week Israel celebrated its 62nd year as a nation, but there was major cause for concern amid the festivities as the Israeli people faced the looming menace of a nuclear-armed Iran, as well as the prospect of a rapidly deteriorating relationship with Washington. The Israel-bashing of the Obama administration has become so bad that even leading Democrats are now speaking out against the White House. New York Senator Chuck Schumer blasted Barack Obama’s stance towards Israel in a radio interview last week, stating his “counter-productive” Israel policy “has to stop”.

At the same time a poll was released by Quinnipiac University which showed that US voters disapproved of the president’s Israel policy by a margin of 44 to 35 percent. According to the poll, “American voters say 57 – 13 percent that their sympathies lie with Israel and say 66 – 19 percent that the president of the United States should be a strong supporter of Israel.”

I recently compiled a list of Barack Obama’s top ten insults against Britain, America’s closest ally in the world. This is a sequel of sorts, a list of major insults by the Obama administration against America’s closest ally in the Middle East, Israel. As I wrote previously on Obama’s treatment of both Britain and Israel:

In the space of just over a year, Barack Obama has managed to significantly damage relations with America’s two closest friends, while currying favour with practically every monstrous dictatorship on the face of the earth. The doctrine of “smart power” has evolved into the shameless appeasement of America’s enemies at the expense of existing alliances. There is nothing clever about this approach – it will ultimately weaken US global power and strengthen the hand of America’s enemies, who have become significantly emboldened and empowered by Barack Obama’s naïve approach since he took office.

The Obama presidency is causing immense damage to America’s standing in the free world, while projecting an image of weakness in front of hostile regimes. Its treatment of both Israel and Britain is an insult and a disgrace, and a grim reflection of an unbelievably crass and insensitive foreign policy that significantly undermines the US national interest.

So here’s my top 10 list of Obama administration insults against Israel after just 15 months in power:

1. Obama’s humiliation of Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House

In March, the Israeli Prime Minister was humiliated by Barack Obama when he visited Washington. As The Telegraph reported, “Benjamin Netanyahu was left to stew in a White House meeting room for over an hour after President Barack Obama abruptly walked out of tense talks to have supper with his family”, after being presented with a list of 13 demands. As I wrote at the time:

This is no way to treat America’s closest ally in the Middle East, and a true friend of the United States. I very much doubt that even third world tyrants would be received in such a rude fashion by the president. In fact, they would probably be warmly welcomed by the Obama White House as part of its “engagement” strategy, while the leaders of Britain and Israel are frequently met with arrogant disdain.

2. Engaging Iran when Tehran threatens a nuclear Holocaust against Israel

In contrast to its very public humiliation of close ally Israel, the Obama administration has gone out of its way to establish a better relationship with the genocidal regime of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which continues to threaten Israel’s very existence. It has taken almost every opportunity to appease Tehran since it came to office, and has been extremely slow to respond to massive human rights violations by the Iranian regime, including the beating, rape and murder of pro-democracy protesters.

3. Drawing a parallel between Jewish suffering in the Holocaust with the current plight of the Palestinians

In his Cairo speech to the Muslim world, President Obama condemned Holocaust denial in the Middle East, but compared the murder of six million Jews during World War Two to the “occupation” of the Palestinian territories, in a disturbing example of moral equivalence:

“On the other hand, it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people – Muslims and Christians – have suffered in pursuit of a homeland. For more than sixty years they have endured the pain of dislocation. Many wait in refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza, and neighboring lands for a life of peace and security that they have never been able to lead. They endure the daily humiliations – large and small – that come with occupation. So let there be no doubt: the situation for the Palestinian people is intolerable. America will not turn our backs on the legitimate Palestinian aspiration for dignity, opportunity, and a state of their own.”

4. Obama’s attack on Israeli “occupation” in his speech to the United Nations

In his appalling speech to the UN General Assembly last September, President Obama dedicated five paragraphs to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, without once referring directly to Palestinian terrorism by name, but declaring to loud applause “America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements.” He also lambasted the Israeli “occupation”, and drew a connection between rocket attacks on Israeli civilians with living conditions in Gaza. The speech served as a ghastly PR exercise aimed at appeasing anti-Israel sentiment in the Middle East, while bashing the Israelis over the head.

5. Obama’s accusation that Israel is the cause of instability in the Middle East

As The Wall Street Journal noted, “the Obama Administration seems increasingly of the view that Israel is the primary cause of instability in the Middle East”, citing a recent press conference where he stated:

“It is a vital national security interest of the United States to reduce these conflicts because whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower, and when conflicts break out, one way or another we get pulled into them. And that ends up costing us significantly in terms of both blood and treasure.”

6. The Obama administration’s establishment of diplomatic relations with Syria

While actively appeasing Iran, the Obama administration has also sought to develop closer ties with the other main state sponsor of terrorism in the Middle East, Syria, establishing diplomatic relations with Damascus in February. Syria remains a major backer of Hamas and Hizbollah, both responsible for a large number of terrorist attacks against Israel.

7. Hillary Clinton’s 43-minute phone call berating Netanyahu

As The Telegraph reported, Hillary Clinton sought to dictate terms to Israel in the wake of Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to Jerusalem:

“In a telephone call, Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, ordered Mr. Netanyahu to reverse a decision to build 1,600 homes for Israeli settlers in occupied East Jerusalem that sparked the diplomatic row. She also instructed him to issue a formal pledge that peace talks would focus on core issues such as the future of Jerusalem and the borders of a Palestinian state. In addition, the Israeli prime minister was urged to make a substantial confidence-building gesture to the Palestinians. Mrs. Clinton suggested this could take the form of prisoner releases, an easing of the blockade of Gaza and the transfer of greater territory in the West Bank to Palestinian control.

Last time I checked, Israel was still an independent country, and not a colonial dependency of the Obama White House. Yet that still hasn’t stopped the Secretary of State from acting like an imperial Viceroy.

8. David Axelrod’s attack on Israeli settlements on “Meet the Press”

It is extremely unusual for a White House official to launch an attack on a close US ally on live television, but this is exactly what the President’s Senior Adviser David Axelrod did in an interview in March with NBC’s Meet the Press, designed to cause maximum humiliation to Israel, where he stated in reference to new settlement construction in East Jerusalem:

“This was an affront, it was an insult but most importantly it undermined this very fragile effort to bring peace to that region. For this announcement to come at that time was very destructive.”

9. Hillary Clinton’s call on Israel to show “respect”

As The Telegraph revealed, the Secretary of State lectured the Israelis at a dinner attended by the Israeli ambassador and the ambassadors of several Arab states in mid-April, urging Israel to “refrain from unilateral statements” that could “undermine trust or risk prejudicing the outcome of talks”. In Clinton’s words:

“Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu has embraced the vision of the two-state solution. But easing up on access and movement in the West Bank, in response to credible Palestinian security performance, is not sufficient to prove to the Palestinians that this embrace is sincere. We encourage Israel to continue building momentum toward a comprehensive peace by demonstrating respect for the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinians, stopping settlement activity and addressing the humanitarian needs in Gaza.”

10. Robert Gibbs’ disparaging remarks about Israel
