Stop the Democrats’Plan for Electoral Chaos

Jan Ting,FloydReports.com

During the 2000 presidential election,Al Gore won the popular vote but George
W. Bush won the presidency by winning the majority of votes in the Electoral
College. Since then,a predictable but misguided
effort has been underway to try to make the popular vote determinative of
presidential elections
,instead of relying on the Electoral College as
provided in the Constitution and as traditionally counted.

Recognizing that such a proposal could never command the support of
three-quarters of the states required for a constitutional amendment, proponents
have instead proposed an interstate compact by which states commanding a
majority of votes in the Electoral College agree to cast all their votes for the
winner of the national popular vote in a presidential election. States would
legally bind themselves to cast their electoral votes for the national popular
vote winner regardless of the actual vote in that state. And by mutual
agreement, the legislation in each state would become effective as soon as states
commanding a majority of the electoral votes enact the same legislation.

The flaw in the proposal is the possibility of a close result in the national
popular vote. Under the current system,a close vote in the Electoral College
could trigger a recount and protracted litigation in a single state,as we
experienced in Florida in 2000,or at worst in a couple of states where the close
popular vote could affect the electoral votes.

But under the national popular vote proposal,a close national vote could
result in recounts and protracted litigation in all 50 states and in the
District of Columbia,because….

Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa had some profane, combative words for Republicans while warming up the crowd for President Obama in Detroit, Michigan on Monday.

“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said to a heavily union crowd.

“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” Hoffa added.

Obama addressed the crowd shortly after Hoffa.

Gore: Global warming skeptics are this generation’s racists

Gore: Global warming skeptics are this generation’s racists

By Caroline  May – The Daily Caller   11:18 AM  08/28/2011

One day climate change skeptics will be seen in the same negative light as  racists, at least so says former Vice President Al Gore.

In an interview with former advertising executive and Climate Reality Project  collaborator Alex Bogusky broadcasted on UStream on Friday, Gore explained that in order for  climate change alarmists to succeed, they must “win the conversation” against  those who deny there is a crisis. (RELATED:  Bill McKibben: Global warming to blame for Hurricane Irene)

“I remember, again going back to my early years in the South, when the Civil  Rights revolution was unfolding, there were two things that really made an  impression on me,” Gore said. “My generation watched Bull Connor turning the  hose on civil rights demonstrators and we went, ‘Whoa! How gross and evil is  that?’ My generation asked old people, ‘Explain to me again why it is okay to  discriminate against people because their skin color is different?’ And when  they couldn’t really answer that question with integrity, the change really  started.”

The former vice president recalled how society succeeded in marginalizing  racists and said climate change skeptics must be defeated in the same  manner.

“Secondly, back to this phrase ‘win the conversation,’” he continued. “There  came a time when friends or people you work with or people you were in clubs  with — you’re much younger than me so you didn’t have to go through this  personally — but there came a time when racist comments would come up in the  course of the conversation and in years past they were just natural. Then there  came a time when people would say, ‘Hey, man why do you talk that way, I mean  that is wrong. I don’t go for that so don’t talk that way around me. I just  don’t believe that.’ That happened in millions of conversations and slowly the  conversation was won.”

“We have to win the conversation on climate,” Gore added.

When Bogusky questioned the analogy, asking if the scientific reasoning  behind climate change skeptics might throw a wrench into the good and evil  comparison with racism, Gore did not back down.

“I think it’s the same where the moral component is concerned and where the  facts are concerned I think it is important to get that out there, absolutely,” Gore said.

Gore also took shots at Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who has lambasted climate change alarmists on the presidential  campaign trail, and other politicians who dare to question the veracity of  global warming science.

“This is an organized effort to attack the reputation of the scientific  community as a whole, to attack their integrity, and to slander them with the  lie that they are making up the science in order to make money,” Gore said.

Ironically, back during Perry’s days as a Democrat, the Texas governor  supported Gore in his 1988 presidential bid. Perry became a Republican in  1989.

Democrats Worry New Laws Threaten their Illiterate, Illegal, Dead Voting Base

Democrats Worry New Laws Threaten their Illiterate, Illegal, Dead
Voting Base

June 2nd, 2011

Danny Tyree, FloydReports.com

According to Newsmax, Republican-controlled state legislatures nationwide are
stiffening voting laws with changes that include requiring valid photo
identification, restricting early voting and imposing stricter rules on those
who can register to vote.

Republicans assert that the changes are to ensure voters are qualified.
Democrats counter that the changes are politically motivated and aimed at
discouraging young and minority voters – many of whom comprise the party’s
base.

Reading between the lines, the Democratic argument boils down to “Many of the
people with whom our message resonates most strongly are too lazy, uninformed, or
muddle-headed to get out and vote
. NOT THAT THERE’S ANYTHING WRONG WITH
THAT.”

Yes, the Democrats have learned to steal the thunder of the GOP’s patented
patriotism angle. (“Our military personnel bled and died that we might have our
freedoms. And now the heartless Republicans expect our citizens to get off their
couches and vote in a narrow one-week window…Uh, maybe I’d better just stop
talking.”)

The Democrats insist that the Republicans are….

Leftists: Have You No Sense of Decency Left?

Leftists: Have You No Sense of Decency Left?

Richard J. Little

Having seen the effects of violence first hand in my profession, my deepest sympathy goes out to the families of the victims of today’s attack in AZ. Please pray for them.

However, I am also saddened to see all the knee-jerk comments in our media and many others who are attempting to use this criminal action for political advantage.
I have one question for you who seek to distort this crime to push your political ideology: Have you people no shame?  Have you, at long last, no sense of decency left?
I have heard terms like “ignorant” and “hateful” to describe people who have not the slightest to do with this unspeakable crime and have done nothing wrong but have simply spoken out and acted peacefully in support of Individual Rights, Freedom, and Liberty.
What is “ignorant” and “hateful” is to spread unfounded rebuking and draw negative inferences about people you know not an iota about and who have not a thing to do with this senseless crime – as we have been inundated with these slanderous accusations all day long……
Many people who know nothing about the person who committed this crime want to impugn other people because it fits their ideological bias and their pre-determined narrative that anyone who supports Individual Rights, Personal Freedom, and Constitutional/Limited government must somehow be “violent” or “hateful”.
Or that by opposing actions by politicians which are unconstitutional or destructive of our society you must somehow be “creating an atmosphere of hate” if you exercise your free speech rights to speak out against such actions.
This is total bunk and is simply a shameful attempt to silence those who you disagree with.
Those who support individual rights and free markets are supporting a society based on voluntary association, choice and cooperation among citizens.
Conversely, those who advocate for government-based collectivist “solutions” for every conceivable ill in the world are in fact the ones who call for the use of coercion, and if needed, force to make others comply with their wishes.
As a factual matter, there is not a shred of real evidence that connects Ms Palin, conservatives, or the tea party to this act of violence. No, political ads with “crosshairs” aren’t even close to “proof” of anything as not only did Ms. Palin use this but so did the DNC and the Daily KOS!
If one must look for a political motivation from this deranged individual his listing of the “Communist Manifesto” is probably all you need to know about the alleged shooter’s political influences.
I know the implication that it is likely that this individual was a committed leftist or simply an incoherent individual greatly disrupts your chosen narrative, but hey, why let the facts and the truth get in the way of your emotionally based political ranting.
Jan LaRue notes:
Clarence Dupnik, the Pima County Sheriff, repeatedly ranted in his press conference about some radio and TV personalities whose “vitriol,” “hatred,” and “bigotry” has a bad influence on mentally unstable people, “enflaming the American public.”  Dupnik opposes the AZ immigration law, calling it “racist,” disgusting,” and “stupid,” and said he wouldn’t enforce it.  Apparently, he thinks that only “vitriol” expressed by conservatives has a bad influence on people.

And the winner of the most bizarre, overwrought, hysterical denunciation of Sarah Palin by a brainless lefty is…

Rick Moran

It’s not Paul Krugman, although I know he has many fans on the right who were hoping he would win the prize because he fits the “brainless” description so aptly.

Nor is it any lefty blogger who, over the last 24 hrs, has stretched, and stretched, and stretched the point some more about Sarah Palin’s “target” list actually meaning that she hoped someone or someones would grab a gun and off the congressmen she wanted defeated.

Sorry – you’re all wrong. The winner is the NY Daily News’ Michael Daly.

The headline on his column: “Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ blood is on Sarah Palin’s hands after putting cross hair over district;”

Here’s the passage that nailed down his victory:

Palin would no doubt say that she was only speaking in metaphor, that she only meant her followers should work to unseat Giffords and 19 other Democrats who had roused her ire by voting for health care. But anyone with any sense at all knows that violent language can incite actual violence, that metaphor can incite murder. At the very least, Palin added to a climate of violence.

Palin should have taken it as a warning of what might happen when a Tea Party hothead dropped a gun while heckling Giffords at an earlier Congress On Your Corner event, more than a year ago.

That did not stop Palin from declaring Giffords a “target.” Giffords’ district office was subsequently vandalized, and the congresswoman noted that Palin had put “the cross hairs of a gun sight over our district.”

“Metaphor incite murder?” Where? When? Who? WTF? Just one example would be helpful, but apparently Mr. Daly is far too busy drooling his hysterical rant to pay attention to such mundane details as proving such an outrageously stupid charge.

Congratulations are in order to Mr. Daly for topping the rest in vitriolic hate of Sarah Palin. The competition was stiff, but Daly prevailed due to his mindlessly idiotic “analysis” of the tragedy.

I leave it to AT readers to come up with an appropriate prize.
