Few seem to begrudge President Obama the occasional golf outing (presidents needs to unwind, right?). But John Kim, a producer for PGA.com (the PGA Tour runs the primary men’s professional golf tours in North America), took to Twitter Tuesday night to ding POTUS for excessive golfing.

In response to learning of Obama’s 50-plus rounds of golf since taking office, Kim wrote, “that’s more than me! But then again, my job is … golf. Wait, that doesn’t seem right.”

And, later: “the old adage is: those who work in golf never get to play. Guess I need to run for President to hit the links!”

White House Plans to Push Global Warming Policy, GOP Vows Fight

White House Plans to Push Global Warming Policy, GOP Vows Fight

HONOLULU, Hawaii — After failing to get climate-change legislation through Congress, the Obama administration plans on pushing through its environmental policies through other means, and Republicans are ready to put up a fight.

On Jan. 2, new carbon emissions limits will be put forward as the Environmental Protection Agency prepares regulations that would force companies to get permits to release greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.

Critics say the new rules are a backdoor effort to enact the president’s agenda on global warming without the support of Congress, and would hurt the economy and put jobs in jeopardy by forcing companies to pay for expensive new equipment.

“They are job killers. Regulations, period — any kind of regulation is a weight on economy. It requires people to comply with the law, which takes work hours and time, which reduces the profitability of firms. Therefore, they grow more slowly and you create less jobs,” said environmental scientist Ken Green of the conservative American Enterprise Institute.

Dan Howells of Greenpeace disagrees.

“I was looking at some advertisements from the 1970s where they were making the very same arguments about stopping acid rain. And that didn’t turn out to be a job-killer. In fact, it created jobs in some places,” said Howells, the environmental group’s deputy campaign director. “The more we keep making these decades-old arguments, the more we won’t be creating the jobs of the future and working towards the new energy economy.”

The administration says it has the power to issue the regulation under a 2007 Supreme Court ruling that directed the agency to make a determination on whether carbon dioxide, blamed for global warming, was a hazard to human health.

Rep Fred Upton, R-Mich., the incoming House Energy Committee Chairman, penned an op-ed in Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal along with Americans for Prosperity president Tim Phillips, and charged that Congress should act.

“The best solution is for Congress to overturn the EPA’s proposed greenhouse gas regulations outright. If Democrats refuse to join Republicans in doing so, then they should at least join a sensible bipartisan compromise to mandate that the EPA delay its regulations until the courts complete their examination of the agency’s endangerment finding and proposed rules,” the op-ed read in part.

With Republicans taking control in the House, the GOP will be in a better position to take on some of these policies, and members are promising a fight if the Obama White House moves forward with any carbon crackdown. There was bipartisan support for a bill proposed this year that would have stripped the EPA of the power to set carbon emissions limits. GOP lawmakers could bring the measure back.

The White House seems prepared for a fight.

The administration recently circulated a memo from the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy John Holdren to the heads of all federal departments and agencies calling for “a clear prohibition on political interference in scientific processes and expanded assurances of transparency.”

The top five liberal hate groups

The top five liberal hate groups

.

While the Left loves to accuse the Tea Party and Conservatives to be members of hate groups, the simple fact is, there are a lot of liberal hate groups.  We could not let 2010 go into the books without presenting our top five liberal hate groups.

5.              NAACP.   The number five group has to be the NAACP.  Earlier this year, the NAACP released a report called Tea Party Nationalism.  The report, which was hilariously inaccurate, tried to claim the Tea Party was a racist group.  The NAACP, and its members have repeatedly made claims such as calling the Tea Party the 21st Century version of the KKK.  Shelia Jackson Lee, who is the NAACP resident hate monger, stated at the NAACP convention, “all of those who wore sheets a long time ago have taken them off and wear Tea Party clothing.”  The NAACP has never repudiated her attacks or any of their other silly attacks.    To the NAACP, anyone to the right of Karl Marx is a racist.   The NAACP is the number five liberal hate group.

4.            SEIU.   Andrew Stern, the former President of the Service Employees International Union famously said, “We prefer to use the power of persuasion, but if that does not work, we will use the persuasion of power.”  SEIU is a group that has not been shy in using violence against companies who refused their efforts to unionize and have not been shy about using violence against Tea Party members.   In August 2009, SEIU thugs beat St. Louis Tea Party Member Kenneth Gladney.   In March 2010, a major Tea Party event occurred in Searchlight Nevada.  SEIU thugs came in and tried to cause violence against Americans exercising their First Amendment rights.   The SEIU is Number 4 on our liberal hate group list.

3.            ACLU.  The ACLU can be called a hate group with a law license.  A lot of law licenses.  If you hate America, the ACLU loves you and if you love America, the ACLU hates you.  They have sued to eliminate any reference to the Christian religion by schools or the government.  They have no problem with Islamists.  They have provided representation to terrorists at GITMO.  Their litigation strategy has been to reveal as many American secrets as possible.   ACLU chapters across the country have sent out letters to school boards this holiday season telling them what they can and cannot do in regard to school Christmas celebrations (who elected the ACLU?).   And of course the ACLU is famous for its litigation.  It has either sued and been awarded attorney’s fees or extorted settlements from small cities, counties and school boards afraid of being bankrupted by their obscene fees.  The ACLU is the number three liberal hate group.

2.            The Department of Homeland Security.  DHS has become something of a joke.  A bad joke.  DHS will not enforce border security.  It makes Americans go through a joke of a security system when they want to fly.   It invades their privacy while not going after terrorists.   And then of course, there is the infamous report where DHS ignored pressing issues like illegal immigration and Islamic terror to put out a report warning about terror from “right wing extremists.”  The DHS Clown in Chief, Janet Napolitano borrowed a page from the Clinton administration to try and demonize conservatives with this idiotic report.  The report was of course denounced by all concerned, but has never been repudiated.  As late as September of this year, Tea Party activists were added to the Homeland Security list of terror threats.  All of this is silly political posturing from the most corrupt regime in the history of this country.  And for that, the Department of Homeland Security is our number two liberal hate group.

1.            SPLC.   Of course, we could not complete this list without the Southern Poverty Law Center.  This group has made a cottage industry labeling any group to the right of Karl Marx a hate group.  Since the start of the Tea Party movement almost two years ago, the SPLC, or as it is more accurately called, the Church of Morris Dees.    Morris Dees is the founder of the SPLC.  He has made a name for himself for calling out Klansmen and skinheads, but then turns around and lumps anyone who disagrees with his far left agenda in the same groupings at the Klan or neo-Nazis.   Earlier this year, the SPLC released a report claiming “right wing extremists” were on the rise.  Their definition of right wing extremists was anyone who was concerned about the economy, out of control spending, illegal immigration or the insane rise of liberal nut groups as someone akin to the Branch Dividians.    More recently, the SPLC smeared as hate groups, respectable groups such as the Family Research Center, American Family Association, Concerned Women for America, Liberty Counsel and others as hate groups for opposing repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and Homosexual Marriage.   That makes the SPLC our number one liberal hate group.

Morning Bell: Obama Will Make You Pay More at the Pump

“What do you say to people who are losing patience with gas prices at $3 a gallon? And how much of a political price do you think you’re paying for that, right now?” This was a question asked of the president at a press conference [1] in August…of 2006. The president was George W. Bush. In fact, it was a question that was asked in one way or another regularly during the entire eight years of the Bush presidency, regardless of where energy prices stood at that moment.

In May 2004, The New York Times reported [2] that congressional Democrats “were stepping up pressure on the Bush Administration to ease gasoline prices,” when prices were still under $2/gallon. In April 2005, at another press conference, a journalist stated [3]: “Mr. President a majority of Americans disapprove of your handling of social security, gas prices…” In 2006, Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) exclaimed [4]: “Since George Bush and Dick Cheney took over as president and vice president, gas prices have doubled…They are too cozy with the oil industry” after she drove one less-than-energy-efficient block to a press conference at a local Exxon station.

In 2008, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) “blasted [5]” the president for rising gas prices on his (and her) watch. In July 2008, ABC News asked [6] the president what was his “short term advice for Americans about gas prices?” repeating a nearly identical question asked at a February 2008 press conference. In April 2008, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said [7] gas prices were “the number one issue facing America today.” Read the rest of this entry »
