Factoring In Fred Thompson, Reaganeque Appeal Politics Marie Jon’ June 9, 2007   Fred Thompson, the former senator from Tennessee is in the race for the presidency of these United States. The charismatic Thompson will officially announce his candidacy on the Fourth of July. He is a conservative’s conservative. He most definitely has the political pedigree. Thompson has already raised several million dollars and is being backed by insiders from the past three Republican administrations. He is a lawyer who served as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations from 1980-1981. The presidential hopeful was a former member of the United States-China Economic and Security Review Commission. He is a member of the conservative American Enterprise Institute think tank, which does research for our national security. He belongs to the Washington Speakers Bureau. He is an analyst for ABC News Radio. He also publishes a daily blog and podcasts over the Internet on an ABC Radio website. Thompson is an excellent communicator and public speaker. Most Americans know Thompson as a widely-successful character actor. He has performed in film and on television. In an adaptation of the film “Born Yesterday,” Thompson played the part of a senator before he actually became one. After completing his term in 2002, he joined the cast of the NBC’s series Law & Order. Thompson recently asked to be released from the show. His presence in the upcoming campaign will breathe new life into the conservative movement. He is a very impressive man, who is a born again Christian. Thompson is a plain-spoken intellect with political experience and the Wisdom of Solomon. Excerpts from the Associated Press: Fred Thompson edging toward 2008 bid RICHMOND, Va. — Fred Thompson says the country faces different challenges now than it did when he spurned overtures to run for president in 2000, leading him to consider a return to politics.  ’I think that everybody was kind of sitting back, taking it easy and thinking that, you know, peace and prosperity were going to kind of last forever. I think we know better than that now,’ the former Tennessee senator told The Associated Press. ‘We live in a more dangerous (time of) things that threaten our very existence, things that threaten our peace, things that threaten our economic stability.’ “ In an interview Saturday night before speaking to the Virginia GOP, Thompson would not talk in detail about why he believes he might make a good president or what his priorities would be. ‘I’d do lots of things,’ he said, declining to elaborate. During his 1994-2002 Senate tenure, he was considered a reliably conservative vote. But he had few significant legislative achievements and established a reputation as a less-than-hard worker. ‘That’s one rap that you can cure,’ Thompson said. When pressed, he struggled to name his greatest accomplishment in the Senate. He said he managed the homeland security bill in the full Senate and added: ‘There were a lot of things. … It doesn’t always have to do with putting your name on a piece of legislation. There was an awful lot of bad legislation that I helped to stop for one thing.’” Many Republicans are stressed to distraction over certain issues. Unfortunately, too many of them have withdrawn their support from the GOP and President Bush during a time of war. As the result of not seeing the full picture regarding the War on Terror, many Republican voters sat home during the last election. They refused to vote for the betterment of our homeland. Extremists within Islam takes note of what we do. Some of them live amongst us. This is a pivotal time in our country’s history; it isn’t the time to spank the GOP because of feelings of disdain over border issues or angst over President Bush. In the final analysis, Bush has kept our country safe from further terrorist attacks. Give the man credit for the good he has accomplished. Soon someone else will replace the man who occupies the Oval Office. As in poker, the smart player knows when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em. As voters, we allowed the worst to take place by jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Frankness and honesty dictate admitting that the reign of our new Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was brought to fruition by discontented conservatives. They are now back to their old (pre-1994) modus operandi; the Democrats took their place of power to subvert our country. The Grand Old Party has a chance to regain its place in the White House as the classy gentleman Fred Thompson tosses his hat back into the political arena. He is a winner and a keeper. It is time that all Republicans learn that they need to pull themselves together and work out their differences without creating self inflicted chasm’s of divisiveness. Despite its faults, America does not deserve the likes of Hillary Clinton, Barack Hussein Obama or John Edwards taking charge of our country at this crucial time. The Democrats have shown themselves to be boisterous, bullying, socialist Marxists. They can’t lead a free nation. Hillary Clinton’s “It takes a village,” “sharing the wealth” and “I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society” rhetoric is a dark foreshadowing of what will come if a high-profile Democrat gains the presidency. We have seen the enemy. They are the radical, self-centered politicians in the DNC. We have never seen them this close up or as ugly. We have a plethora of wonderful candidates to choose from within the GOP. I will personally vote for whoever is chosen to be the presidential candidate. Fred Thompson has Reaganeque appeal. There is little doubt that Michael Moore is one of the most public anti-American propagandists of modern times. Without fail, his lengthy lists of so called documentary works have all encompassed his varying visions of the shortcomings of the United States. What many Americans take issue with Moore, is the deceptive means by which he collects his information and the even more deceptive way he portrays this information to the public. When lamenting about Moore’s last work Fahrenheit 9/11, Christopher Hitchens would say, “To describe this film as dishonest and demagogic would be to promote those terms to the level of respectability. To describe this film as a piece of crap would be to run the risk of a discourse that would never again rise above the excremental…Fahrenheit 9/11 is a sinister exercise in moral frivolity, crudely disguised as an exercise in seriousness. It is also a spectacle of abject political cowardice masking itself as a demonstration of “dissenting” bravery.” (Hitchens, 2004, ¶3). The Hitchens observation is important to the profiling of Moore for two reasons. First, it encapsulates a general feeling of many Americans, and more importantly, it shows that even the most godless among us realize that there is something fundamentally wrong with Michael Moore. Dave Kopel, of the Independence Institute, who appears in the Michael Moore rebuttal film Fahrenhype 9/11, has chronicled fifty- nine falsehoods within Moore’s documentary. Hitchens and countless others have been able to touch upon the modus operandi of Moore which includes an overabundance of lies and trickery. Examples of trickery include ambushing politicians trying to make their way into government buildings, and the lowly deception in Bowling for Columbine of pretending to be a second amendment advocate to get into Charlton Hesston’s home to verbally attack the aged actor for his kindness. Moore has used his abilities in “cut and paste” respondent editing to make a mockery of the truth and cater to the far left anti-American crowd. It should also be mentioned that he has made a fortune in the process. However, realizing that Michael Moore is an America hater who lies, is only observing the symptoms of what truly makes the man what he is. To have an adequate profile of Moore, a person must understand why he does what he does. First, it must be understood that Moore is not a dupe or lackey. To compare Moore with dim-witted pawns of the Democratic Party, such as Cindy Sheehan, is to make a serious under-estimation of Moore’s intelligence. For everything Moore is, he is not stupid. While this may sound like a compliment, it’s far from it. Moore’s full mental capabilities exempt himself from the forgiveness that some will extend to the Sheehan types of the world. While it is no doubt true that Moore benefits from the socialist movement within the Democratic Party, he is also not a gun for hire. Moore and the Democratic left simply have similar aims at the moment and this is a point of confusion for many people. When we see Michael Moore sitting in the place of distinction with Jimmy Carter at the 2004 Democratic convention, we are not seeing Michael Moore the faithful soldier of the Democratic Party, what we are really seeing is Michael Moore representing Michael Moore Inc. It is here that we can observe the beginnings of the true sociopathic nature of Moore. What’s confusing to most people is that when we think of the sociopath, visions of stone cold killers like Ted Bundy come to mind, not plump loud mouths from Michigan. However, it is the nature of the sociopath that makes Moore a perfect Goebbels style propagandist. The sociopath is void of a standard conscience and is not limited in personal action due to feelings of guilt. If this individual can attain what he/she wants, the means to that end have no relevance. Being seen as a hypocrite or dishonest carries no weight past what formal sanctions can bring. When Michael Moore attacks Dick Cheney for his affiliation to Haliburtan, while owning stock himself, there are no pangs of guilt or remorse, only frustration at being exposed. Moore, as a sociopath, is free to attack the war effort as well as the survival of the country for his own personal gain with impunity. Sociopaths are highly functional, while they do not feel bound to general moral codes, they do realize that to stay free in society, to continue the quest for their personal gratification, they must appear to conform to societal norms. Sociopaths are often identified by the public by their personal indulgences that are so deviant from societal norms they require incarceration or elimination. For instance, Ted Bundy was highly functional and blended well in the society until his desire to destroy the flesh eventually identified himself as a sociopath. In contrast to Ted Bundy, Moore’s personal indulgence is simply to line his pockets by undermining the country. While the damage Moore brings to the U.S. in lowering national morale, reinforcing the warped conceptions of America by socialist countries around the world, and encouraging America’s enemies, may in the long run cause a loss of life greater than Bundy’s, its immediate effects are less obvious. The point that people should be brought to understand is that if the fates had placed Moore in a communist country, he would most likely be undermining that system for his personal gain by any means he could muster. Ironic isn’t it? There is no doubt that the public will receive another large dose of the same old same old with Moore’s new labor of love, Sicko. However, as Moore promotes Cuba’s communistic medical program, people should be armed with the knowledge that what they are seeing is not the work of a naïve communist convert but the cold calculations of a sociopathic mind.   Related Reading/References: Hitchens, Christopher. BAGHDAD (AP) – In a dawn strike Friday, unidentified gunmen attacked the house of the police chief in Baqouba, northeast of Baghdad, killing his wife, two brothers and 11 guards, Diyala provincial police reported.

The attackers also abducted two sons and two daughters of police chief Col. Ali Ahmed, police said. Ahmed wasn’t home at the time, they said. The children’s ages and other details of the attack were not immediately available.

Diyala province, and especially the city of Baqouba, 35 miles northeast of Baghdad, has been torn by violence in recent weeks as al Qaida in Iraq and affiliated groups have battled Iraqi security forces, the U.S. military and some local insurgent groups that have turned against al Qaida.

Really. Latin American sources say the Venezuelan dictator is looking forward to hosting John Edwards, the multimillionaire American trial lawyer-turned-populist presidential candidate.

Edwards is campaigning with pro-Chavez American actor Danny Glover, who has reportedly convinced the candidate to visit Caracas and express support for Chavez.

Sources say the leftwing despot is also arranging for Edwards to meet with Iranian government officials (or agents) during his stay in the Venezuelan capital.

Venezuela is Iran’s staunch ally. The oil-rich South American nation is also allied with two Communist tyrannies–Castroite Cuba and Kimist North Korea.

Chavez Sees Nuclear Missiles Ending US Hegemony

Like Iranian monster-in-chief Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez dreams of “a world without America.”

China Confidential has learned that the Crackpot of Caracas has told close friends and associates that America’s days as the world’s leading military power–or hegemon, in Chinese military and political parlance–are clearly numbered.

Chavez reportedly sees air power–actually, the threat of annihilation by nuclear-tipped missiles–as the key to cutting Washington down to size and driving it from its overseas bases and commitments.

In less than a decade, according to Chavez, the United States will face a “perfect storm” of potential nuclear missile attacks from North Korea, Iran, and China, which is known to be augmenting its estimated strategic nuclear arsenal of about 20 intercontinental ballistic missiles with nuclear submarines capable of hitting the US. China is also developing a space-war program aimed (a) at blinding US satellites, and (b) at attacking the US from orbiting weapons systems.

Sources say that Chavez, inspired by the Cuban missile crisis, hopes that China or its vassal, North Korea, will eventually supply Venezuela with missiles capable of destroying Washington.

Throwing acid in the face of women who fail to don the hijab, flogging people for sporting non-Islamic haircuts, and stoning to death violators of sexual norms are only a few examples of a raft of daily barbaric acts of Islamists in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, and many Islamic lands. Other forms of Islamic brutalities such as Honor Killing have already found their way to Germany and other European countries with the ever-burgeoning Muslim populations. Wherever Islam goes, so goes its ethos. Reading about these religiously-mandated horrific acts and even seeing them on television or the Internet may momentarily repulse, but does not terribly concern many Americans. After all, those things are happening on the other side of the world, and those people deserve each other; we are safe in fortress America, so goes the thinking. But “fortress America” is a delusion that even the events of 9/11 seem to have failed to dispel. Many prefer to believe that the assault of 9/11 was an aberration, since nothing like it has happened again, and it is unlikely that anything of the sort will ever happen again, so goes the wishful thinking. The reality portrays a vastly different picture. America is far from a fortress given its vast wide-open borders. It is a nation of laws where all forms of freedom are enshrined in its constitution; is where Americans live by humane ethos diametrically different from those of Islamist savagery. Sadly, these differences confer great advantage to the Islamists and place America in imminent danger.The breach of “Fortress America” from the air on 9/11 is only the first installment of much more forthcoming heinous assaults, unless we abandon our complacency; stop relying on the invincibility of the law-enforcement people; and willingly make the sacrifices that would protect our way of life. Knowing Islam intimately and having experienced its systemic savagery, has compelled me to warn repeatedly of the deadly imminent threat it poses to all non-Muslims (Why Confront Islamism) attempting to present a comprehensive treatment of the evil precepts and practices of Islamism, I am listing a few facts that should be enough to alarm anyone who cherishes liberty and freedom; awaken anyone who is comforted by the belief that all the Islamic mayhem is limited to an illiterate gang of primitive Middle Easterners and has no implications for America. Sorry, bad news is here already.   •    Some 26 percent of American Muslims, ages18-29, support suicide bombings “in defense of Islam,” according to findings of a recent Pew poll. •    According to Pew, there are 2.35 million Muslims in America, 30 percent of whom are in the 18-29 age range. Some claim that the number of Muslims is in fact much larger. Even using the conservative Pew numbers, over 180,000 Muslims in America is bomb-approving. This is an alarmingly large number, given that Muslims, as an article of faith, practice dissimulation in dealing with infidels and under-report their true intentions. How many human bombs and bomb-approving people does it take to wreak havoc on our country? •    The 180,000 Muslims living among us don’t define what “defense of Islam” is. It could be anything that they feel constitute an attack on Islam and Islamic values, such as the reported flushing of the Quran down the toilet, the Danish Cartoon, Rushdie’s book, a newspaper article, an Internet posting, or even women not donning the hijab. •    When religious fanatics unreservedly advocate wanton acts of mass murder, they are not likely to shy from coercion and intimidation measures to impose their will on the larger society. In tandem with the cold murder of Van Gough in Holland, for instance, Islamists had been striving to supplant civil laws with the Islamic Sharia in the country. In other lands such as France, England and Canada, Muslims have also been waging serious campaigns for adoption of the Sharia or some of its provisions, just for starters. •    Ever since 9/11, and possibly before, America has been concerned about terrorists coming from Islamic lands. For this reason, some people advocated profiling as a safeguard against the 9/11 type mass murderers. But how do you profile hundreds of thousands of Muslim Americans who are already here and look and act like other Americans? How can an open free society such as ours safeguard the individual freedom we so greatly value and protect the safety of its citizens? •    The immensely difficult task of safeguarding our freedom while ensuring our safety is seriously and repeatedly undermined by Islamist apologists, pontificating academes, vote-hungry politicians, and the mainstream media, each for their own reasons. Here are some of the comfort pills dispensed by the mainstream media’s polls: “Most Muslims seek to adopt American lifestyle” (USA Today); “Muslims assimilate better in U.S. than Europe, poll finds” (New York Times); “Poll: US Muslims Feel Post-9/11 Backlash Despite Moderate Outlook” (Voice of America). •    It is said that there are lies, damn lies, and statistics. The mainstream media’s manipulation of statistics goes beyond selective reporting and qualifies as outright disinformation. Is the U.S. Muslims’ outlook moderate? All U. S. Muslims? What about the self-reported outlook of hundreds of thousands who support mass murder in the “defense of Islam?”  •    Even if most Muslims seek to adopt an American lifestyle, a great many Muslims are dead set on using violence to make America conform to their barbaric way of life. Islamism is cancer. Cancer cells are always few at the beginning. Left unchecked, they keep on expanding and eventually devour the non-cancerous. •    There is an important lesson to be learned from the drama presently unfolding in Turkey. Modern Turkey, the only democracy in the Islamic Middle East, was established by Mustafsa Kemal Ataturk. He abolished the caliphate in 1924, replaced Islamic rules with modern secular laws and barred the mosques from politics. Ever since, the mosque has been fighting and gradually succeeding in dragging Turkey back under its rule. Presently, what the Western Mainstream media calls a “mildly Islamist” party rules Turkey under the rightfully suspicious eyes of the staunchly secularist heirs of Ataturk, the Turkish military. All kinds of Western leftists loudly proclaim that there is nothing to worry about, that the forthcoming Turkey election that is going to install mildly Islamists as president as well as the Prime Minister is no cause for the millions of Turkey secularists to pour into the streets against such an outcome millions of Turkey secularists pour into the streets. Why all the fuss, by the military and the millions of Turks? After all, the mildly Islamists are not all that bad and they are coming to power through free elections, the leftists keep preaching. In reality, even coining the term, “mildly Islamist” is a clear instance of the leftists’ treachery. Being mildly Islamist is as plausible as being mildly pregnant. There is no such a thing as mild Islam. It only starts mildly, just the way Muhammad himself started it in Mecca. Then, it builds momentum and settles for nothing less than the total imposition of its dogma and will. Being mildly Islamist is only the head of the camel poking into the room. Wherever the head of the animal goes, if it is not chopped off the body eventually follows. And the body of Islam is a disease-bearing body that will infect the healthy secular societies. •    Escalation of demands, intolerance of differences, and contempt for the non-Muslims are hallmarks of Islam. The deluded leftists as well as the publishers of the leftist are destined to be among the very first victims of the mild Islamism as it gathers power. •    The Turkish people demonstrating against creeping Islamism in their government are still a minority. A minority that has first-hand experience with both secularism and Islamism. They also see the horrors of Islamism next door in Iran and are rightfully alarmed by the ever-encroaching Islamism in their government. They know full well that they must resist the backward march of their country and must do all they can to protect their precious freedom. Do we, in America and the West, have the same sense and the will to forestall mild Islamism from evolving into a real Islamism? Just a sobering note: Mild Islamism is already here in our country. The Muslim cab driver of the Minneapolis Airport refusal to ferry passengers with alcohol or even those with seeing-eye-dogs; Muslim inmates demand to be served only hala Food ; Muslim students badger universities for special facilities for their meetings; and, the first ever Muslim Congressman assumption of office by swearing on the Quran and not the Bible. Mild Islam is not all that obtrusive, since it is similar to the early stages of pregnancy. Yet, pregnancy it is. And before long the full-term beast will make its appearance. If we don’t want to deal with the beast, we need to prevent the pregnancy in the first place.
